So, Jecht's forum has been pretty quiet and something interesting happened, so I thought I'd revive it a bit.

I have no idea if anyone has done this before or if this is already solid proven fact, so if it is, I apologize ahead of time.

Double Assist Combo using Side by Side that I performed in a fight:

How viable is this? Is it worth the risk of losing your followup?

Nice Chaos. It's kind of WR dependant, but still being pretty awesome...

Hold up, how did that work? Just holding out the attack just long enough to catch you opponent before they dodge, but enough for the assist gauge to be reset?

It's Jecht man. I mean, he's the Chuck Norris of DFF. He even could do a triple AST LOL.

No, seriously. I think your theory is quite correct...

Chaos and I already talked about this but yeah, basically you're waiting until the frame that they are >ABLE< to dodge (although it's unlikely they will get the dodge on the first frame).

It's really high risk, doesn't work on higher level CPUs, and is EXTREMELY hard to do consistently online. Although it does open up the concept of Jechts mixup game. After such things (assist attacks) you can:

- Normal followup and lock the assist gauge
- Try to attack right on the frame and keep going and keep the assist gauge
- Wait and punish the dodge if your positioning is good and also keep the assist gauge

People might be expecting this and wake-up attack which you can then start mixing up with blocks/dodges to punishes (matchup specific). Couple these with some of Jechts other tricks (like the double combo) and you should be able to increase your damage output.

You'll need to understand your opponent and their habits to some extent before really risking a lot of this, so put it to good use but also play smart.
