How it work? I tried it on a max AI CPU, but i failed, the enemy dodge just before JStream...
(i'm speaking about the JRush (1st part correct)->JRush (upward to chase, you have to fail the second part to do this)->Front Dodge after the X appear-> JStream)

Timing for it is tight. I'd say maybe 5 frames total before they're able to recover? (Just a rough estimate). This means you have to dodge forward at the perfect time (I hold X and tap R when I think I should be as to not go into chase by mistake) then Stream as soon as possible. This means (on average) you have 2/3 frames of grace on each part.
The best way to handle this, in my opinion, is to see it as an extending part of his combo that you just don't see the red circles for. Learn when in his animation/sound clip/feeling (however you normally do his combos) to dodge forward and learn when to Stream. It'll make it quite a bit more consistent. If you can make it consistent - the extra damage actually makes a few match ups more bearable (I'm looking at you, Squall).

Just 5 frames, huh? I think that's more forgiving than Shantotto's Retribution > DC > Stun combo, which I REALLY think just has 1, maybe 2 frames max grace period. Yeah, the trick involving holding the X button makes things a whole lot easier just by disabling going into chase alone. Now you just need to focus on your timing. Mashing helps at first, but just so you can see and feel for yourself the earliest you can dodge out of the move. After that, once you've familiarized yourself with the timing, mashing just does more harm than good.

The Rush combo is pretty simple. Tap the second O right after the first punch lands. Then tap O+^ when Jecht's left land rises off the ground. Make sure you adjust your camera if needed by holding left or right on the d-pad, or pressing Select to recenter or else you risk missing with Stream.
Holding X and tapping R for the dodge cancel works, but Skyler and I find it more consistent to press them once simultaneously. The trick is to watch Jecht's feet for the timing: dodge when his heels are above his body/you can see the black of his shorts. This method also works better in lag because you see an always present visual cue, instead of having to wait a second after the chase icon flashes or waiting for it to flash twice. After the dodge cancel, just attack with Stream as fast as possible. You can even press O twice to use Stream asap and it won't mess up your combo.

I'm working on this as well....this would be awesome to be able to do consistently on humans. I usually do doubles on humans w/ assists for consistentsy and it does 1k+ brave damage. I would love to quad combo that way. I'll try that holding X part after I get home later, that actually cancels chase immediately? I usually just press O then real quick, dodge forward and stream. It works good but its not perfect as a lv 9 cpu and some humans can dodge out. I'll try this though, its really helpful. If anyone has anything else to add, I'll appreciate it.

i just learned this niffty trick and i have to say, its pretty awesome.
the only thing i dislike, is that i need to have equiped midair evasion boost for consistency. sometimes it works without it, but not as often.
are there any other restrictions to this combo?

Now this is funny I just not to long ago found out this combo for Jecht while training with him without reading this thread. I got the impression from doing and practicing with Lightning's combo being hiting Army of One, forward dodge out of the chase seqence and connecting with Thunder * Pretty beast if I might add*. So I tried doing this with Jecht and what do you know, you can make a beast combo from his O+^ ground attack if you dodge forward out of his chase seqence but the problem about it is timing his dodge cancel. I know for sure that Light has like second after the X shows up where you can't dodge cancel out of chase and if you try to dodge doing that second you'll just go into chase but it feels like Jecht's takes longer for him to be able to dodge cancel out of his so you definitely have to find that time where you can do it.

Yeah you right definitely going to keep working at it. It's just awesome but I suspected that more people knew about it before I did just happen to come across it by chance and what do you know, decided to come look here and see if more people did know about it and it turned out ya'll did.
