View Full Version : Homebrew T.T. Cards?

I was just curious if the forums' Triple Triad feature will eventually include cards from other Final Fantasy games aside from FFVIII?
This topic can also be used to discuss the possibility of this inclusion and ideas on what these home-brewed cards' characters and statistics would be.
A Feral Chaos card with an A on each side and a Mass Zero card with a 0 on each side would be hilarious. These cards would, of course, be for collection purposes only. :p

Triple Triad Advance (ttadvance.ca) has examples of other FF decks that were already made. You could pretty much follow that example of how to create new cards. Kaya has already done her own version of their Firion and Edward cards in her graphic thread, I suggest checking those out. As far as making cards on our own, arranging the numbers is as easy as taking the examples of existing FF8 TT cards and rearranging numbers so that the cards aren't all exactly the same.

Yeah, I was actually thinking of staff cards haha. Anyway, when I get most of TT sorted out, I'll be recruiting some people for the design and maybe balancing, as Kraid also offered his services for balancing.

I'll be willing to go about as a general tester. That aside; we should have player cards based off every "more well known DF members" and have their stats roughly based around how famous they are :3 (or make 1 of every DF member card and give them to their respected owners; people have to fight for cards other have) :3

I'll volunteer for general testing and helping to balance. I have no background with graphics so I can't help with design outside of value placement. Should be fun :3

I'm going to have five Narolf cards and I'm not going to lose a single duel with them ever.
Bring it.

Player cards are supposedly 1 of a kind and as such you can't have a deck with 5 of the same player. (Mass will obviously have 5 mass cards with max stats on all 4 sides)

There are no rules when it comes to the Narolf card.
He's just that good.

I suppose; maybe we can have player cards that have actual levels on them. 1-10 (or whatever it was).
It's based on how many Triad wins you get; 10 wins bumps you from level 1 card stats to level 2 etc.
(doubt we can do this though :3)

I'd like to have a king of heroes card. Why not just have a wild card with no image on it and you can just upload an image in jpg. It'll just go right under the numbers and you can name it what you want.

I just had a neato idea for a GF card... er rather GF cardszzz. Wouldn't it be awesome if there were super-hard-to-get Knights of Round cards for each one of the individual knights?

T.T. cards for individual games can pretty much be set up the same way as the FF8 deck is. For some, it's a little harder than others, so you have to fudge with the formula a little, but it's still pretty constant. Levels 1-5 are monsters (1 being the smallfries, 5 being the bigger endgame monsters), Level 6-7 are boss/special monster cards, Level 8-9 are summons/special allies, Level 10 covers the main characters of the game.

That's pretty handy Khell. I may have no desire to play the game, but making cards should be fun :3

Oh yes, and if you total up the numbers on a card (all 4 sides), there should be a general "range" that each level falls into. That way you don't create cards that are extremely overpowered for the level that they exist on (and therefore, their rarity is deserved). The only one that's out of the ordinary is PuPu, I believe.

^ Level 5 monster. To be honest, one of the 4's need to be a 3. (I don't have access to photoshop so a REALLY crude placeholder had to be made for now.)
Pupu actually falls behind on it's total. The higher number that a card has, the lower the 'total' is depending on the average.
This is why Edea and Rinoa have a total of 26, but the other character cards such as Squall have 29 total.
(Yes I'm that sad into looking into all this.)

Pupu actually falls behind on it's average total per level. The higher number that a card has, the 'lower' the 'total' is depending on the average per level.
This is why Edea and Rinoa have a total of 26, Average Total seems to be 27-28. Squall and Seifer add to 29.
Using this formula, the most "powerful card in actual numbers" (level 10) we could actually make would be a combination of the following: A, A, 1, 5
On the other hand, the Squall and Seifer cards are pretty much the most powerful cards in the entire game in terms of 'total'
