I did some online fights to get the experience people said i need to have and I fought against some people who I guess according to DF were pretty good fighters. One was Zelphr and the other war DarkSoulXIII. Let me know how I did. Keep in mind I'm a noob so theres no need for hardcore bashing. Yes constructive criticism is advised but please unnecessary comments like you suck and etc are not welcomed. I got alot to learn I know but I'm just learning so any tips would be appreciated. Also I do chase! Its apart of the game, it helps me get EX and it isn't banned so I will use it(for all the people who hate chase).

just a note
if zelphyr had sephiroth or kuja as his assist you shouldnt have punished omnislash with aerial circle (he can punish your circle and net a break if he calls it just before circle hits)

That OK fight was way too close. Your pretty good, Idk dark soul but Zelphr is a really good cloud and from what I heard he makes really good comebacks with him so the fact that you won without your main is pretty impressive. Work on your blocking though.

Also it mentioned b4 but ill repeat it, use squall on the ground more when it comes to Cloud if hes gonna stick to the air like that.

idk if rough divide works as a punish but i scored some breaks on squalls trying to punish me with aerial circle

and you can always beatfang (it can probably be countered too but it has to be anticipated)

Don't do Heel Crush during the Kuja Ground Assist. Land on the ground and do Thunder Barret -> Revolver Drive as Kuja finishes. Much more damaging option.

Other than that, you seem to be fairly solid.

Lol for me its just harder for me to attack that way. I like to switch from ravager to commando when i use sephy as a assist but if i had medic i would be using that instead by mistake.

Although is using cura on the ground while being surrounded by thundaga help?

No. and about that blasting zone thing... blasting zone can be assist punished too so... its either beat fang or rough divide (if rd works)

EDIT: i punished it with sephiroth and broke him.

yes, when cloud has an assist bar and kuja/seph... tidus maybe too but never tried it with him.

you got to be really careful with beatfang though because if its anticipated he can punish that too.

I played against ICame_69 s COD with my Sephiroth.

The previous fight involved spamming but the group frowned on it if I recall correctly so I toned it down and i messed up...ALOT!

I still won but i dont feel good about this victory because I made so many mistakes. I want to win some matches without sf spamming but that seems harder. I'll practice though and if that doesn't work sf it is!

So all you sephiroth masters teach me how to become one with shadow flare plz

So tell me what I did wrong (besides not sf more) in this fight and let me know what I should do next time since Sephy is one of my mains.

Although you missed alot at the start you came back pretty good and on the bright side you didnt lose ANY HP so good job DZX. Heres a tip when COD is in the air try blocking more if your not gonna sf more

Use scintilla to cover your dodges. Don't randomly throw out hp attacks, unless you can't be punish (aka you have 2 assist bars or they have no assist bars). And take off ground dash, you shouldn't be on the ground enough to use it. Other than that you're pretty good.

Omni ground dash, you can use the cp elsewhere. If you aren't covering a dodge do a normal block. Accomplishes the same thing and its safer. And after golden assist chase do a sf for a little bit more damage. It can be the difference between a break and being forced to do a bravery attack to break your opponent.

id have to know your abilities to actually recommend which ones to use.

Actions: Ground evasion, midair evasion, ground block, midair block, Free air dash, Omni ground dash, free air dash boost,

Support: Always Target indicator, Ex core lock on, assist lock on, auto recovery,

Extra: Snooze and Lose, Counterattack, sneak attack, First strike, riposte, gamblers spirit, assist critical boost,exp to assist, rangers gear, and master sniper

Also for his weapons, Death Penality, and the Lufenian equips,

Basically I made a assist build for sephy

Lose first strike, only gives you crits on the first hit. Use auto assist lock on. Most people use omni over free air dash on seph, but free can work. I would put on one winged angel over death penalty. Seph doesn't need the extra assist gauge duration since he has sf. And one winged angel has +1 attack over it, and a 10% damage boost. And you could take off rangers gear and master sniper. When you take all this off you could equip precision evasion, its useful to keep you from being dodge punished. Your choice though.

Precision evasion gives you more invincibility frames after a dodge if you dodge at the correct time.you might not have enough cp to put anything else on. But evasion boost is also good.

Using lufenian gear that depletes assist gauge. I have an assist build, I never got the point of an ex build since his ex mode sucks and I can do more damage with an assist build than I could with an ex burst. I heard a hybrid build works well too.

Depends on how good the exdeath is, against a good exdeath the match just gets annoying and you should use someone who has faster attacks who can mindgame better.

I have a replay to upload which is going to give you an idea of how annoying the match up is. I am sure you don't want to even bother trying, it's bad for Sephiroth :(

You don't spam SF against Exdeath. Exdeath will tear you up. And even if you manage to space properly to avoid is counters, you won't be in any position to actually harm his HP.

In general, you're better off picking a different character.

Kujie coo is exdeath's kryptonite, that matchup is even harder for exdeath to pull off than exdeath vs seph is for sephiroth.

to be honest... you shouldnt care for what groups like icames think of that ... if they dont like you spamming sf then they shouldnt play you.

personally i dislike him because he always says some shit when i win (like i assist camped or EX BUILDS ARE BROKEN LOL)

You should probably learn how to use Sephiroth without SF spam. BRV boost on dodge can and will take you down if you need spam.

Of course, if you DO spam, then don't be surprised if people decide not to play with you. Don't get mad, just find someone who will accept you for the SF spammer that you are. Like me ;)

Ok I changed my assist from kuja to cecil just to play around for fun cause I like cecil and see what combos I can do. I found this unique combo using Hells gate :D I fought SalemFox on ahp to see how it would work on PVP

For the assist, if it works it is quite effective however it's waaay to ineffective. The hells combo thing only works when using Sudden cruetly meaning that any assists branched off of a wall rush is rendered much worse than with an assist(Kuja of course) that can Assist Chase.

As for the fight...it's hard to tell if you played exceptionally well. You did a normal shadow flare Sephiroth. I'm not saying you did bad but that win was certainly due to your opponent being bad rather than you being good. Maybe it was because he was Squall and thus was a bad match-up to shadow flare Sephiroth due to Squalls short range and thus predictable moves.
