View Full Version : Endless Jecht Combo?

I've been playing a few times against a friend when he was in town and I've noticed something maybe someone can clarify for me.

I was fighting him, and his main is, of course, Jecht. Has been ever since the first game. He's set his up with a Side by Side/Assist build and I've always set up mine as a Force to Courage/Assist build. We decided to test each others builds to see which was better.

Here's the thing. I know that with Side by Side you can restore a huge amount of the assist gauge by landing an hp attack, however, normally when the victim still hasn't recovered from a combo the gauge dims and stays frozen. He was using Jecht's ability to chain Bravery attacks to his HP attacks, then use his assist from the boost he got, warped behind me and repeated the process by charging his attack first, and he still was able to call in Tidus after that to continue the combo.

How is this possible?

Jecht Rush->Jecht Blade to wall rush->Assist to Assist Warp->Charged Jecht Rush->Jecht Blade to wall rush->Assist to Assist Warp->Charged Jecht Rush...

Edit: I've found a similar thread so it helps explain certain things. It obviously works on humans and on CPU so now I've found yet another reason to slap myself for not maining him earlier. -_-

You're not escaping properly. Theoretically, he can infinite by attacking on the first possible frame you can act but it's extremely percise and difficult to do consistently. My guess is you're missing your opportunity to dodge or otherwise get out. Maybe you have auto recovery turned on? That's a common issue with this sort of thing.

That's the thing. I don't use auto recovery because of that little issue. You're more than likely right. I have a tendency to mash instead of time so I sometimes miss the correct frame to dodge properly, and he knows that so he just kept doing that combo from the very beginning of that match. I have noticed though that it is very wall rush dependent, though since Jecht is even better at wall rushing than Cloud that's a hard weakness to exploit on closed in maps. -_-
