You heard right: a SNES RPG made by your's truly! You can learn more about it, and download it, at the following link:

For those who wanna know the premise before clicking the link...

It's been several hundred years since the fall of Daideus; a god-like being that came from seemingly nowhere, and had his way with the world. For decades, Daideus did as he pleased, having fun with the planet, and his ludicrous power. However, the 5 nations of the world, previously at indefinate odds with each other, managed to come together to form one collective assault on Daideus. Through great effort against impossible odds, they managed to do away with the mad god once and for all...

Seeing what greater good could be accomplished through unity, the 5 nations came together, and formed a 6th country; Capitol. This nation would serve as a neutral party, with its leader acting as a moderator for the other 5. Thus, the nation of Capitol was born, and the first Archqueen was coronated.

However, that was several hundred years ago. Daideus is no longer fresh in the minds of the people, and global unrest has begun to resurface. The magick-driven country of Sorca and the science-driven country of Neotopia are on the brink of war, while the desert nation of Cilika finds its government impotent against the Thieves Guild, which has all but taken over that country. All the while, the Schwartzans and Genusans deal with the rest of the world hating them to the point of violence. All this, however, is just stuff and nonsense to Max and Axl, bounty hunters working within the young country of Capitol. Living paycheck to paycheck and bounty to bounty, Max and Axl soon find themselves knee deep in a conspiracy where world heroes appear to be villains, and Daideus' legacy begins to emerge from the shadows.

If it's got magic, which I assume it does, I'm completely sold.

It's nice to see you're easy to please! :D

I should find that offensive, but I'm too blinded by magic to be phased :D

Oh, before I play, what kinds of magic are there? What's the strongest spell? If you don't want to spoil others, PM me :D

H'okay...

Each character has their own special skills at this point in the story. By chapter/demo 2, each charater learns a "starter spell" which can be upgraded at the cost of a specialized item at upgrade stations in various locations of the game. Each character has their own magick type (Max and Axl will learn Lightning and Ice magick, respectively, in the beginning of the second demo. In the first, a couple temporary characters already know it), and there's a bunch of other stuff you can do as the game goes along (I'm planning on having the option of converting Max and Axl's physical techniques into magick ones later on, at the cost of losing the old move for a new, similar-but-not-same one. Makes you have to think about what you wanna keep or swap).

Axl = favorite. Ice is one of my favorite elements, so he'll probably become my mage later on. As soon as I finish my article summaries, I'm playing this game to death.

The text is all screwy in the game. Is this a problem that can be fixed, or is it exclusive to me and therefore my problem?

I...can't even get to start the game.

Anyone having text issues should download this patch:

http://crankeye.com/downloads/rm2k_fp.exe

Should fix your problem.

A fellow RPGMaker user...xD
I´ll definitely try it out...tomorrow(it´s past midnight here and I have classes tomorrow...you understand, right?).
But it seems people are having problems to play it.

I've tried to make a few project with RPGMaker before, but they never got very far. Magic with a 'k' makes me cry.

I hope the encounter rate isn't too high, or I will need to edit the program to reduce it :P

Edit: Turns out I have to change something anyway. The text is displaying as the really blocky one, and while reading, it looks like it said "He lol'd"

Edit 2: Got into a battle and it said the event script referenced a sprite that doesn't exist. Error'd and gave up, although if the first town is anything to go off, it's somewhat of a Good Gop Bad Cop in a neo-fantasy world.

Scott, the text problem was already addressed. Download the patch I just linked to. As for anyone with any missing sprites, although this shouldn't be a problem for most, if you ARE having this problem, try uninstalling, then re-installing the game. If the problem still persists, open the .lzh file in WinRAR, and basically copy and paste all the game's system folders in there into the game's file. If that STILL doesn't work, lemme know.

Woo. You've convinced me to finish my project in RM2K. Which pretty much means I have to start it in RM2k, since I lost it when I had to format my computer. Fortunately I still have most of the resources :3

And now you've also showed me a server on which to post it once it's finished. Kudos to you! (Haven't been on my computer long enough to play your game yet, but no worries, I'll get to it)

I just changed the text options in the games database. No need for me to patch. :P
