View Full Version : Needed: Screenshots for Firion Guide
Rei-N

Hey guys, I'ma gonna start working on a Firion guide for this site containing as much information as I possible can fit into a set amount of pages. Now I've no qualms having it only text, but seems pictures help lighten up the mood...so here's my request.
Can somebody go and take screenshots of every one of Firion's moves in the most appealing way that you can get? Credit will be given to those who send in.
Oh, and the guide will have the following (subject to change):
- Match-ups
- Pros and Cons
- Strategies
- Detailed usages of EVERY move
All in a wall of text glory. So yeah. Little help Firion boards?

How DO you take screenshots. If I knew, I'd gladly help. I'd help with the guide too, but you're more than enough to make an awesome firion guide :P

Maybe you just have to record a replay, then screencap it when it's playing on your computer...?
I bet with CFW there's an easier way though.
Anyway, I have a low level Firion, but if no one else tries it then I'll help.

I can do it for you within 2 days Rei. If there is anything else you want me to screenshot post here and I'll try my best. Kraid could probably do it too.
I still need to screenshot stuff for my Golbez FAQ >_<

@ Icyie: No worries Icyie, it's always nice to have second opinions on matters.
@ Slayer0: I know that method, but my media player doesn't seem to do screen caps and neither will take prtscns work (since all you'll get is a black screen of doom in my case? Oo) Thanks for the advice though.
@ Robo: That would be greatly appreciated and perhaps serve as a motivation for your Golbez guide? XD

Do you have VLC media player? You can take screencaps using that, and it plays just about any video type.
Anyway, since it looks like Robo will get it taken care of, I am off!

A nice homage to my original signature, I lost the original pic though, due to a system wipe. :(
Perhaps I will recreate it.

How does nobody know this?
When you're watching a Replay from the Museum in Dissidia, hit select to stop the action, then move around the camera into the angle you want, and then press R+Triangle.
HOWEVER! Before taking the screenshot, while watching the replay, press Square to hide the HUD, so when you take the picture, it just looks like this...

All your screencaps will be saved into a SCREENSHOTS folder on your memory stick. Then you just transfer and you're good to go!
It's as easy as a hooker on Main Street.

Yea, I do it all the time. That's how I done the ExDeath, Golbez, Ultimecia and Emperor screenshots. =P (I've actually done CoD also now, but I'm not really in to making a guide. Might make a discussion thread later, but I'm not working on an FAQ or anything.)

Oh so you move the analog stick to get rid of the damn menu? T_T Now you tell me lol.

Sorry Belts, all I ever did was just convert my replays into .avi format. D:
But now I know! Maybe I'll do caps for some of the characters I play.

You don't need to move anything to take a screenshot... Just press the buttons and it will take the screenshot without the menu and stuff.
But do use the analog stick/d-pad to move the camera so you can focus on the attack to take the screenie.

Press Select when you get to around the part you want to screenshot. If you pressed it too early, press L until you get to the right part.

When I press select the menu pops up and stays there o_o

That's when you take the screenshot... Or do you mean the pause menu? As far as I know, pressing Start will bring up the pause menu and pressing Select will bring up the edit mode menu (the little black window at the bottom-right corner)

Just take the screenshot with the menu there. After you press R+Triangle, the menu will be gone for a moment and that's when the screenshot is taken, and the menu won't be in it.

How is that not easy to understand? When you hit the Select button, it pauses the replay, and you can tap the L button to move it frame by frame, or you can use the thumbstick and D-pad to alter the camera angle.
Once you have the angle you want (and while still in the Select Menu) just hold the R button and press Triangle.
The Select menu you see WILL NOT show up on your screenshot. HOWEVER!!! If you don't press Square to hide the HUD, it WILL show up on your screenshot.
Apparently it's not easy like a hooker, but difficult like trying to lick your elbow (If someone tries this...please post a video).

Nevermind, let's keep this topic on track.
If anyone wants to get the pictures for Rei-N, you could just post them here. Otherwise, let's leave it at that, please.

I could do them now (bored ftw?), but I think the Lance Combo animation is different in the JP version... Other than that, I think all the other moves are the same.

huh, go figure. Looks like I need to bother looking at the replay editor other than for simple conversions. Thanks for the explanation Belts.
And major props for the screenshots! I'll get cracking on the deathstar of text immediately.
