The best thing I've found is EXP > BRV. That ability helps more than any other, provided you can land HP attacks. If you feel confident enough, however, an Iai Strike build might help, but for some characters, that's definitely less effective (Terra and Kuja, for example).

He means the CPU Level in the colosseum I believe.
Well, you have two choice:
The Cheap one: Iai strike.
The EXP one: That's easy but it require a super ribbon and various accessories that give you more exp (Like Chocobo feather and such.)
Now, equip the ribbon, the three chocobo items and every other item that raise your Bravery. Set EXP > BR.
Every time you hit your enemy with a HP attack, your BR will go sky high. In two or three hits you will destroy your enemy. To me, this actually works great with both The Emperor and Ultimecia.
Also, I have a Garland build made just for these kind of high leveled enemies. Even tough it uses high breakable accessories that raises BR and the one that give you 100% EX as the battle begin...

OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!! Black Jack. Got it.
I would probably do an Iai Strike + Exp->Brv setup with Ultimecia. With all of those arrows and swords flying, it's bound to get an Iai Strike, if not a break on its own. Also a combo of Uncharged Arrows + Shockwave Pulsar = Skyrocketing Brv.

Yes. And also:
Charged Knight's Arrow + Great Attractor.
The CPU is forced to deal with the arrows and won't notice Great Attractor. Just charge and when you see them jumping/dodging...bang!

I never thought of that. I'll try it to see if it works for me.
On-topic: Personally, I use Kuja to dance around the CPU and smack 'em around to wittle their BRV and HP down to beat them, but others may use Iai Strike to the same effect but faster.

I do the same once Kuja enter EXMode. I think that actually his ExMode special effect is one of the best in this game. His orbs can left the enemy without any defence and ready to get a Flare Star in their face.

I've never had any more trouble with antiquites than I have with any other opponent in BlackJack. I don't even know what's so different about them...

i suggest using wall rush build against this over-leveled enemies
building up BRV points is useless, since they can break your char in one combo -no matter how high is your BRV-
just HP attacks when you have the chance

No offense to those "antiquitie beating challenged...." but i have to agree with Knocking_you_all_down, there's nothing different about them (enemies with High Antiquities). Your favorite and best build will be enough. The problem fighting high level CPUs is their Bravery Bonuses. Just prevent them from hitting you because one BP>HP combo can kill you. Another advise, nullify their summons. :)

well if one bp to hp combo can kill you then thats something different about them.
some characters may also be at a disadvantage here aka those who have trouble hp attacking

Got your point. But asking for "how to beat enemies with Antiquities"??? Man this is TOO BROAD! Almost every CPU in BJ Course have at least 1 antique equiped (Lufenians).
For the author of this thread, it will be much better if you read several discussion regarding match ups (Matchup Threads). Happy reading!

The title of this thread isnt "how to beat enemies with antiquities", its how to beat the antiquities, as in the enemies in BJ whose difficulty is High(Antiquities) because i believe that they are harder than your average joe. I posted this thread because i know that there are a lot of experienced players here who have beaten them, and thanks to these people, i am now able to beat the antiquities (although the last 5 i beat didnt drop any lufenians:mad:)

You don't even need tricks such as Iai Strike or EXP to BRV...
Just wait, Block, Counter. Never seen the difficulty in that. Gets me through with Emperor all the time. (Infact, you shouldn't even USE EXP to BRV with Ultimecia, since her goal is pretty much the same as Squalls.)
Using the EXP to BRV trick just speeds things up much quicker.

Yeah, I'd argue that her HP attacks are a bit harder to land than others, therefore rendering it less useful.
A Super Ribbon isn't always necessary too for an EXP > BRV setup, though, when your opponent is 50 levels higher than you. Depending on a Grind Lover play plan bonus, it usually either takes about 2-5 HP attacks landing, which would be easier than waiting for 10 HP attacks to kill without it. Of course, Kraid's method is a lot easier, but it's also a lot more dangerous to the non-experienced player than landing an easy-to-use HP attack. The AI usually goes batshit crazy when HP attacks are flying about, so it can be a lot safer than trying to land BRV attacks on enemies with that high of defense that can potentially break you in one hit or combo.

Hahaha... I can beat them too, over and over again. Know why? because I know how to work againts enemy CPUs. Not even having EXP>BRV or Iai Strike. That's why i advised on my previous post that you can use your best/favorite build to any of your character, just be careful not to get hit.
Ok, Thanks to them! Goodluck on you. :)
