Well... I guess he could have at least made the effort to make some of his own animated figures. I've seen this one before, the menu is well done.

The menu remake is quite awesome. :D. If the menu is the only thing you saw, you might have thought that the it really is a remake. :D

That's pretty awesome. I love the look of the menu.
If ever a remake of FFVII will be on PS3, I would definitely buy it. (same goes for FFVIII. lol)
P.S. Actually, I haven't finished FF7 yet. xD

I ROFL'd!!!! XD!!!! LOLOOLOLOLOLOLOLOLL!!!!
I liked how they used FF13's giant stars to show the Materia "rank" or "developement" until it created a copy of itself =p.

All I want to know is, why did he have master summon and KotR?

Why wouldn't you.
Also, the FF7 remake isn't going to happen. They would atleast wait until our generation's are past so people don't remember FF7. That's what I think anyway.
Basically I think it's a bit too early. If anyone understands that.
Or it's just not going to happen.

It seems like they've been remaking the FF's in order, I really doubt it's going to be a generation before we see an FF7 remake.

I think the next generation of consoles will be a perfect fit for a FFVII remake. But if it doesn't even happen then all we can hope for is a fanmade remake.

I would save FF7 for PS4 or Xbox 720 or whatever they are gonna call em. The graphics would be so freakin awesome. It could almost be like Advent Children graphics :P That's what I'm hoping anyway. Otherwise I would stab them. Stab them fast and hard.

the question is, although seen in the teaser ps3 trailer, which costume would Cloud be wearing. The Original SOLDIER outfit, or the AC outfit.
In the teaser Cloud is wearing the purple SOLDIER costume.

@Cookies, tbh I had master summon and KOTR equipped on Vincent for VII; I got Master Summon from defeating Emerald Weapon, but I was trying to master KOTR to equip on other characters so that they would have it instead of just mimicing it... Vincent was a risky character for me, only having 999 hp (HP<->MP materia) but he could use KOTR.. or any other Summon as much as he wanted to. His Final Attack>Phoenix was nice to use on last resort, but you can only do it once, after that, I'm stuck using Life2. Idk why I added my life story just to answer one question >.>
And I have heard about a remake for VII coming out on PS3, I just don't know the details, that video was pretty epic though. I'm just having my doubts the battle screen will look like that ;)
especially since the only battle with Sephiroth 1v1 is at the very last part of the game, and Cloud kills him in one hit no matter what. Point being, there wouldn't be a scene like that, nicely set up though. I like it lul.
Note: don't read spoiler if you haven't completed VII
@Bara, he would be wearing the Soldier outfit in the remake. It's supposed to be black though (as you find out in Crisis Core), there's no reason why he should be wearing an AC outfit whenever it's a remake for the original FFVII

What about the PS3 Tech Demo? It looked amazing, I'm sure it'd still look awesome on this generation of consoles. But what remake are they at now? I know they haven't gotten to 6 yet, so 7 could take awhile (Considering all of the previous FF remakes had no real graphical updates the way FF7 is almost certain to have)

I believe they would be releasing VI next, but nothing has been set in stone yet, or am I wrong?
I did see this menu too, it looked great. And this would be the opening. :)

Lol nice, mostly scenes from Crisis Core, but I was impressed. Since Crisis Core was PSP, the remake for the PS3 would surely have graphics even better than that though?

I've actually read that Tetsuya Nomura and most of the team want to make it, but squeenix don't want to do one properly yet.

Tbh, I think the world of Final Fantasy fell into a deep fault whenever Square (the original maker of Final Fantasy) joined Enix. Of course, Dissidia is a good step, but most of the Final Fantasy games after with Square Enix seems to be more focused on movies rather than the gameplay. Don't get me wrong, there are still good things (Dissidia for example ;) ) but this just seems like another fault for "Squeenix" if they don't want to go through with it. FFVII was and is amazing no matter how you view it, and it'd be widely popular (yet again) if they made a modern-day remake.

the problem with that is that they're exactly the same team that's making the games, it's just the direction that they moved in. But really they were always all about the cut-scenes. They were still squaresoft for ffvii, viii and ix and they all had loads of FMVs.

I'm aware of that, but VII and IX were my favorites of the series. But look at XIII for example. EVERYWHERE YOU GO=ANOTHER MASSIVE CUTSCENE. It's been extended too. It was like that in XII as well and possibly XI. In addition.. look at the plots of XI and VII. Completely original. Higher FFs seem.. kind of familiar. Even Dissidia. Conflict between Gods.. Nice.
EDIT-When I said I was aware, I meant of the direction they've turned. I was not aware of the same game management. That's somewhat more comforting.

Unless that's a typo, Square Enix did not make Final Fantasy IX.
Edit: And I HOPE for all that is good, that when they do remake FFVII that they will keep it EXACTLY how it is but with better graphics. No "Bonus dungeons" with good weapons or any of that crap.
The upcoming generations must know the true Final FantasyVII, same difficulty and all!

What's the problem with having a bonus dungeon for after the game's completed?

All those cutscenes are just the new way of explaining the story. Instead of sitting down, reading all the text, pressing the button to further the conversation while the camera stays pretty static, we actually get cutscenes that flesh out the story in a much more natural manner. We get to see the emotion on a character's face now, instead of just watching them dip their heads in sadness or quiver with anger.
I'm almost certain the IX is a Square Enix creation
Not until after the first Kingdom Hearts did the merger happen, well after IX was released. It was a PS2 era merger.
And I'd love for a bonus dungeon, that way it gives people who have already known the game something completely new to do with the characters they know and love.
I just wonder what it could be...something in the City of the Ancients, or where the Ancient Temple was? Hell maybe actually an extra dungeon out of the Underwater Mako Reactor :P

Something that leads up to Advent Children, and possibly goes through Advent Children.

That's a really good idea. Make a whole sidequest out of it, showing the effects of Geostigma starting to appear or something.

I just booted up FF 9, and it said Square Enix....
Anyway, I would want them to add things, just as long as they don't remove any of the things I loved about FF 7. As far as difficulty goes, FF 7 was easy as hell with the exception of maybe Emerald and Ruby, so I'd hope they'd ramp up the difficulty.

Do you have the PSP version from PSN?? If so, no derr.
My friends FFX game says Squaresoft at opening credits.
FFX's CD says SquareEnix.
Most probably a disc made after the merge.

I believe FFIX and X were both made before the merger. However, they still produced the games afterwards; the originals say Squaresoft and the modern ones said Squeenix. The FFIX I have is a Square Enix one (from PSN), yet my brother's PSX copy of FFIX says Squaresoft o.O and I'm guessing Stezil is providing facts about FFX correctly, so assuming that my theory about the game production before and after are correct, then that should clear up a lot.

Cloud's limit break in the short vid hit constant 0s because Sephiroth dodged/blocked all of them.

They don't remake the games in the psn store, they just transfer what they have to fit for the ps3 and psp, then you buy it.

Actually, before April 2003, FFXI was being published and marked by Square. You picked up a relatively new FFXI case. FFXI would be the last game made and published by Square Soft.
