I noticed that you said Phoenix is worse than Demon Wall, this is not true, Phoenix can reset your BRV to normal when you are broken making it more effective since Zidane is so fragile.

yup i think phoenix is better than demon wall in some way, darn because my friend like to Odin me so much ... and Zidane didn't need jump ? i thought it would better to have some for him to feint the opp

@CoD: Demon Wall prevents your brave from going down. With Phoenix, it can go down, but gets resetted if you get broken. Demon Wall basically has the effect of protecting you from manual break, so you see my logic there.
@Kute: Zidane needs minimal jumps only if he has FAD and MAS/+ equipped. Yes, Phoenix can protect from summons breaking you, but chances of the opponent carrying a 'break' summon are low. Against Zidane anyways.

That's why I put a message at the end of the guide, stating that it's still work in progress. ;D
I'm going to work on that section sometime later today.

I already was convinced that they were good moves a couple days ago on the IRC. I was just too lazy to do it today, even though I told you I would. >_>
I'll PROBABLY fix it when I get bored waiting on AHP for someone to play with.

Sorry bra, but I dont agree to a lot of what is said in the guide. It is well detailed, dont get me wrong, but your suggestions on moves seem to be lacking. Zidane has been my main for awhile now so if you would let me, I'd like to add my 2 cents.
Let's start with how to play Zidane. This is strictly personal preference. It will also depend on the Stage Rules and the character's build. Any character can turtle, but some can actually rush as well. Being how "safe" he is, Zidane is one such character.
Now we go into a few builds:
My personal favorite build for Zidane is an Attack Build. This is simple to make. Give him two Mysteries of the Viceral and two Ex Seeker artifacts and for accessories: Red Gem, Red Drops, and Strength Crystal/ Orb/ Shard (till ya fill up all of your slots). Next, he needs to hit crits so obviously we give him: Counter Attack, Riposte, Sneak Attack, Ex Crit Boost. Since this is a rush build, I also have Disable Riposte against the expert turtlers. Basically you get in, combo like a boss, break, then hit for around 6000 total damage. Then, do it once more.
Another build is a Chipper Build. With this build, Zidane will give even Cloud a run for his money for title of Most Turtling Character. For every Zidane, one needs to master Shift Break's distance, but especially for this build. I honestly cant really tell you a good equip/accessory build for this (Maybe and Ex Build with Archangel's Bell for constant Hp gain with Regen?). How to use this build? Play him like you would Cloud.
A rather akward yet still fun build is Exp to Bravery. For this, you need Excaliber 2, Super Ribbon, and two Exp+10% artifacts. For accessories, I'd recommend Chocobo Feather/Down/and Wing, x2 Growth Egg, Hero's Seal, First to Victory, Rebellious Soul, and three others of your choice. The actual play style for this build is strictly personal preferance. You can rush or turtle, your choice.
Lets talk attacks now.
Swift Attack - I have honestly never used this attack seriously. It has quick execution, but no range. Good for chipping and interrupting.
Rumble Rush - The only ground brave I use in with him. Good for punishing and DCing into whatever you want. I admit it is predictable.
Scoop Art - Doesnt deserve the time.
Storm Impulse - Great for taking out the opponent's Bravery. Can be easily linked into, but cant link it into anything (except for wall rush combos like Shift Break and Free Energy)
Vortex - My personal favorite move with Zidane. It will actually hit behind the opponent's block if you're in their face. Great for starting aerial combos.
Tempest - Another great aerial combo move. Links into Meo Twister for easy damage. Vortex > FDC > Tempest > Meo Twister, awesome
Solution 9 - When I first started playing, I used this. Great for punishing and will actually hit if your in the opponent's face. In my opinion, there are better moves, but it may be good for a turtling Zidane if he wants a long range interrupter.
Tidal Flame - Used to use it, but needed Cp so it got clipped. Has miner magical block but slow start up. Can also be reflected with block but causes stagger.
Stellar Circle 2 - Repels magic attacks that are equal to or less then its priority. Slow start up and cool down. This won me a game once on pure luck. Opponent played Terra and had 9999 bravery. I cast this the same time he cast Meltdown. Meltdown got reflected and hit him for his own 9999 giving me the game. I took this off when I needed Cp. It could be good for those people who try to stay above you and out of you camera angle.
Free Energy - Zidane's B&B Hp attack. Arguably the best Hp attack in the game for its quick launch and the inability to 'Pimp Cane' or Ex Guard it. I agree with you greatly for recommending this attack.
Shift Break - If you master the distance and can rain lighting on an oppenent, you will rape the world with this attack. In my opinion, it is the best Hp attack in the game. It doesn't have infinite distance, so if you dash away, you can actually aim the lightning to hit the opponent. The bolts will usually activate Sneak Attack. I believe this attack to be a staple for Zidane.
Sorry if ranted to long. Everyone needs to realize that personal preferance will make a BIG difference in how characters work. Try out different things to see what works for you. Dont take anything as an absolute with people telling you what is good and bad (Except Scoop Art, that move just plain sucks no matter how you look at it, srry)
Great job Pifreak. Even if I dont agree with everything, its still a good guide.

I don't know how you get that impression of Cloud.
My personal favorite build for Zidane is an Attack Build.
Attack builds aren't too viable.
A rather akward yet still fun build is Exp to Bravery
EXP builds are highly frowned upon in PvP.
Swift Attack - I have honestly never used this attack seriously. It has quick execution, but no range. Good for chipping and interrupting.
I stopped reading here. If you're a Zidane player and you're not using SA to the full extent of your abilities you are, without a shadow of a doubt, doing it wrong.

hes not my main or anything but hes one of my lvl 100s, rumble rush is just about the same attack as swift attack but it gets him closer to the enemy giving it more range and is a more powerful attack hit wise

This thread is making me laugh hard.
Swift attack useless?
Rumble Rush is as good as Swift attack...?
Rumble Rush is probably Zidane's worst brave move (Scoop Art should be erased from this topic completely)
If you're going to theory fight with moves then Scoop Art is actually a GOOD move. It gives Zidane range pressure and it can combo to attacks! Don't say a move is good because it works on AI. The AI is HORRIBLE and really the only way to land it is to block or punish. A human player will rarely fall for it. Please don't do tier list discussions if you are only getting your facts from facing AI. Its NOT the same

I doubt he has, but in his defense your guide never mentions it is for PvP use and not general use. You should probably clear that up, you don't really have a specific mission statement or anything of the sort.

I don't know how you get that impression of Cloud
-Zidane hovering over cloud
-Zidane decides to go in for a swift attack
-Cloud player flinches out of panic and either Double Cut or Block to counter the Swift Attack
And all the while Cloud is only running around on the ground in circles...
That's the impression I get of a turtle cloud vs zidane
But really...Zidane's wall combos r not infinites and Idk y...Swift attack links with Meo Twister and I idk y...almost every attack he has dodge cancels into another...hence making dc combos broken because not everyone can do it as easily as Zidane can...
I'll wait for the guide to come back up to post more..

And that I will. In bold and large size font.
Also, (@TKG): I put builds in the guide because a lot of people still like to play with gear, at least the people I've played. I don't really see many who want to play with KAoS rules, though. o.O (Eh, maybe because most people I play are pretty bad)
--
One last thing, don't expect the guide to be updated soon. I have tons of schoolwork to do, and can't really find time for it. Sorry people.
EDIT: I edited the guide slightly. I didn't want to start on my homework just yet. Mainly on the moves of SI, Vortex, and Tempest. Also added a-ther's little Zidane flowchart. :D

Cloud is the biggest telegraphing whore in Dissidia. He is forced to turtle until he goes Ex Mode. No disrespect was intended as I use Cloud myself.
Try to learn the majority of Zidane's DC combos then try an Attack Build. It is pretty much an auto-break build for Zidane if the opponent is anywhere near their base bravery. This is with proper armor, accessories, etc.
I know the Exp builds are frowned upon. I should have mentioned it myself. Sorry about that.
The reply to SA was extremely uncalled for and very arrogant. It is also an opinion based soley on preferance and playstyle. If I took your attitude, I could say "I'm so good I don't need SA". However, I will not. My Attack Zidane utilizes Storm Impulse, Tempest, and Vortex for his aerial setup to fully abuse his DC combos. Rumble Rush is his only ground attack, which is use for countering and setting up his DC combos as well. I rush while in the air and turtle if, for whatever the heck reason, I'm on the ground.

solely based on preference and playstyle? if you're trying to purposely hinder yourself, then sure, you could call it preference. i can tell you right now that you're not a good zidane if you seriously don't think SA is even worth it
and kgen quoted your swift attack statement btw, which i think is hilarious...lmfao

Yes, you're right about Cloud being a big turtle. Still, it doesn't help much against many characters. And..I can't pull anything out of my mind right now about this matter.
Believe me if you want, Zidane's game ISN'T based on combo-ing for gather massive brave. It requires you to block or punish a really laggy attack for you to start a combo. It isn't a viable strategy, since most people will be smarter than that to let Zidane inflict break status on them. Zidane will be the one near base BRV nearly ALL the time, so that's why you need a strong EX build to save his ass.
Haha, EXP to BRV? I used that build in my early online experiences, and it didn't work 90% of the time. Shame on me.
Lastly, if you're not using SA, you're not going to win any online battles, given that the person isn't extremely horrible. Plus, SnL will rape Zidane if he doesn't have SA. And axeeeeL is like that. Get used to it. >_<
