ive been playing around with Vaan a long time and i thought that i want to share what i know in a form of a guide :D


this will be my first guide so i will need some help in it, espetially in the department of:
- EX Mode effects on the weapons
-Recomended Builds and Abilities
-Combos

Vaans ex mode's switch sword and shield has higher priority on the guard I'm pretty sure... and does switch axe and shield have any guard frames? Also switch staff, even though it seems to start up fast, but it takes some time for the hitbox to appear, so it could be useful for making the opponent whiff a block and make them get hit after for 100% crits

Thanks for taking the time to make that Guide. I don't have my copy of Duodecim yet, but i can guarantee Vaan's definitely going to end up being one of my homeboi's.

Many times I've see Spear's Switch interrupt and cut through HP attacks, so that's definitely bound to be useful. I'm surprised by how much I like using Vaan overall - he's got a bunch of great moves.

I am liking vann so much. :D Yes his bravery and unpredictable switching weapons makes it easy to break :D. Although hp can be hard to hit, but i love the wind bust hp attack( i think thats what its called). I like to use it to protect myself or lure oppenets, or combo it xD with great sword or any other weapons and smash them into the move. :D I feel i have to be smart and play mind games to win. I love greatsword and spear :D.

What kind of attacks can Vaan's Sword and Shield switch block when not in EX Mode?

I've tried using the guard against Brave attacks, but I only seem to stagger myself and get sent flying because the opponent's Brave attack had a higher priority.

Vaan is overpowered with his VAST array of guard crushing moves, i mean you never keep using one move for the rest of the characters so why the hell should Vaan get guard crush from changing attacks, its like saying Zidane should gain bravery from jumping ¬¬

Trust me, Vaan is far from broken. He's strong but very predictable as well in terms of moveset. Most people would go any shield weapon, Greatsword ground. Air is always Spear,Greatsword,Crossbow/Katana. Because of that the customization goes down and people already knows his moves. He's a strong character but no hes not broken.

I use gun in air, XD is that mad? I just wanted to add something different, plus i like the gun switch.

Nah using gun in air is fine. Range is shorter but it has the dodge on switch so it can cover bad dodges.
