this may or may not be against the rules. I dunno. But I feel like I should put this out there.

I bought Dissidia Duodecim legit. Pre-ordered it and bought it from gamestop on day 1 it was released. Haven't bothered to play it though cuz I was playing Pokemon for awhile.

Anyways, I turn on my PSP and notice that I can't play duodecim now until I update to version 6.37.

Problem is I have homebrew enabler on my psp. Now I don't really have anything that significant on homebrew to be honest. I barely pirate, but my PSP is still hacked admittedly. I hacked it awhile ago because umds are kinda a pain in the ass and there's no real reason not to hack a psp. It's like having a psp+ or something if you hack it.

So now I'm really not sure what the fuck to do. If I update will it screw up my PSP? Or will it screw up the files I have downloaded? Should I just delete all the homebrew stuff I have and then update? At this point I don't really even care about homebrew enabler, and I just want to play the game I purchased without any problems.

I'm pretty sure updating it doesn't do anything BUT makes it so you can't do the modded shit, but I dunno, I didn't mod my PSP am not very informed when it comes to that stuff.

That's fine except now it's saying I can't update cuz my battery is low. Man this just isn't my day lol.

There is no reason to update.
What is you CFW?
Since currently I am running the latest GEN series and all you need to do is rip the ISO from your UMD then use ISOTool(PSP app) to crack the boot file.
You can find everything you need on google. You have to do this with all the new games until a new CFW gets released but I don't really see a need since this is quite easy to do :\

I also don't like the UMDs, playing the bigger games is such a pain because you sit there loading everything for half an hour...crazyness

I had like homebrew enabler 6.35 or some shit. Most of the hacking stuff went over my head anyways.

I'm just gonna update. Saves me trouble. I was just worried that Sony would pull some asshole move where they'd brick your PSP if you had certain files on it.

dont update or youre gonna never be able to have your custom stuff enabled again.

what psp series do you have (1000,2000,3000, go) and what custom firmware are you running on it

Ahh sorry I never used the enablers XD My psp has been hacked a while before all the softmods came out ._. I cut my finger opening the stupid battery * grumbles*

Oh well, as long as you don't really need it then go ahead and update but Sony hasn't really done anything that can brick your psp...usually it is your fault for putting some bad file or accidently flashing the flash0/1 xD

If it's a softmod, your PSP will be fine if you update, you just won't be able to use the softmod anymore.
