PS3 Backward Compatability questions?

I've been informed that the PS3 is able to play PS1 disk games? (correct me if i'm wrong) Well, right now I'm planning to get an Korean PS3 but does that mean that I can only play PS1 games that are from Korea?

No idea dude... I think PS3 is international so it wouldn't matter *though Backward compatibility screws with the graphics... it's better just to run on PS2*

PS1 and PS2 games are regional so the PS3 can only play them if they're from your region.

PS3 games have no region, however.
