This is the companion thread for discussing Gabranth's Assist Combos. If you have combos/comments/opinions to share put them here. If you have cool vids of combo compilations put them here as well and I'll add it to the Gabranth's Assist Combos thread (http://dissidiaforums.com/showthread.php?9660-Gabranth-s-Assist-Combos).

Hey, would the player be able to inject a hatred while Jecht is still attacking then go in for another attack afterwords?

Thanks Draec for the help, this will come in handy for the guide. Btw, that EX Revenge Combo is brilliant.

Very doable but you have to be in a small map like Edge of Madness or Phantom Train. Otherwise Jecht takes your opponent away from you and it's very hard to land 2 hatreds. On a small map Jecht's movement is stopped by the walls/corner. I have not been able to do it in a map like Order's Sanctuary with Jecht. I will explore Kuja for such options. Although landing 2 hatreds is better in my opinion if it was easy to do, but innocence air or ground does a nice trick for multiple hits. Thanks for the suggestion. Keep them coming.

No problem. I'll have more combo videos with other assist characters and even more Advanced/specific combos with Jecht as they are specific to small maps or a bit flaky in general. For now, atleast, I am convinced that Jecht is a better assist than Kuja although, I will do more testing to confirm. Another good potential may be Cecil but I have not seen anything amazing with him yet.

Well if you are including Aerith then she can re-cast Seal Evil while the opponent is trapped in Seal Evil, so the move would have to be really fast and have a low knock back speed (or chase) but then a dual-assist combo would be possible with her.

I was going to do some tests with Aerith once the PS Store is back up. For some reason, all my DLC got deleted so I have to upload them again and have to wait until the Store is open again to get it back on (I knew I should have done a backup on that DLC... XP).

Well hey, now you know a trick that can be used when testing Aerith combos rather then just attack -> SE -> cure or attack

Yes it is very possible just tried it. But I don't know if it is worth using her over other assists. On the ground she gives brave, and only aerial combos would be possible, and than again she does no damage. I'll see how she stacks up against other assists which are more reliable. Although I already see some interesting combos coming out. My only complaint is she is hard to use with Gabranth and does not combo off everything like Jecht. Thanks again.

It's really starting to seem like Jecht is THE assist for Gabranth, mostly because of his long attack sequence and knockback/rush which allows you to EX-charge unlike any other assist.
Has anyone else been experimenting with ground Jecht? At the moment I've been using some simple combos usually after a ground rush from Rupture or chase.
The basic idea is to call Jecht on the rush and then dodge upwards to prepare for a follow through with an air Innocence or a charged Hatred. The best part about Jechts ground attack is that it suspends the opponent in the air long enough for you to position Innocence/Hatred for a guaranteed HP rush.
Has anyone had any luck with extending combos to include brv attacks during Jecht and finish with HP like some other characters can do? Also Draec I believe it was you who posted a PvP video on here somewhere that shows you connecting a Jecht assist from a COJ hitstun, I haven't had time to try it and was wondering if it is legit/fluke.

Yes it goes the same way except that you have stricter times and have to make no mistakes. With training should make no difference

Yes CoJ can connect but only on tight maps. I was able to do it in Pandamonium but the opponent was next to a wall/corner. It is legit only next to a wall or a corner. As of extending his brave attacks during Jecht assist sequence can actually mess Jehct up. I'll investigate safe brave hits, but so far it is not 100% safe with what I've seen. Also on tight maps like phantom train, you can do whatever you want since the opponent is always next to a wall and it is hard to mess up Jecht Assist Sequence.

I will explore Kuja for such options.
You can do GR > BRV-A > DC > Hatred > DC > A-Chase > Hatred or WR > BRV-A > DC > Hatred > DC > A-Chase > Hatred with Kuja, but you may need to delay the Hatred in the first combo and watch out for your positioning in the second one, oherwise you'll push the enemy out of Kuja's range. I don't really recommend doing the last one, though.

Gabby doesn't have much variety in his combos, does he?

Anyway, is VoJ > DC > Dual Rend a sure-hit combo near the ground? It seems to be that way every time I use it. Also, if the opponent is backed against the wall, Aero > chase cancel > Dual Rend works, too. Dang, it's really hard trying to find some combo pathways for him.
My preferred assist for Gabranth is the Emperor.
Enrage (8 hits) > Thunder Crest > DC back > Aero > FDC > VoJ (or you can end it with Hatred) > DC > Dual Rend is just sweet.
