Hi new to using barz what build do i need for him?

Hello i have used bartz a little bit in the story and liked him. I have tried other characters but when i came across bartz i liked him. Plus i am used to squall and onion knight and bartz feels easy to use to me.

But however i dont know much about his build. What sort of build is good for him?

EX build? Depulate Ex build, Assit build? or Enchacing Damage build?

And if so what accesories and basic abilities i need, i already sorted out my brave and hp attacks.

Personally, I use an EX Revenge build:

Don't pay much attention to my attack abilities setup, I'm still experimenting with it. (I equipped Dark Flame and Luminous Shard twice to stack the Ground/Midair Evasion Boost)


Anyway, the focus of this set is to collect EX through EX Cores (you can use chase as well to help you get EX, since this build doesn't nerf EX Force intake or absorption.) Bartz has an average dashing speed, so it's a viable option for him. Even if you don't use your EX gauge for EXR, you can use it to get into EX Mode to deplete your opponent's assist gauge to land the final hit or simply cause assist break when they assist change.

The equipment set and the Spider accessories are what comprise the EXR part of the build - duration and damage. If you don't know why I'm centering this build around EXR, check this video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_HRAFraB8W0&t=2m41s).

With this set, a full Holy spam EXR can do around 1.6k damage, which is guaranteed break if the opponent is around base BRV or less. Brynhildr helps cause even more damage with the break. Possible summon alternatives include Behemoth, Ifrit and Alexander.

And finally, assist depletion is included because it's pretty standard. EX depletion will prevent the opponent from EXR'ing right after you land a HP attack (which would leave you at 0 BRV and get broken for sure.)

Feel free to swap any boosters if you want. (Opp) Summon Unused can be replaced with (Opp) Summon Used depending on your opponent. The rest is focused on the earlier part of the match since an EXR into break will most likely be a finisher.


I wanted to try different builds since I use an EXR build since when I started playing DDFF, but I can't think of anything else that would complement Bartz as well as this does for me.

Im going with a assist build because of his lacking arial hp moves. I'm also using side by side accessory, witch enables the reset combo that i made a thread about. It disables ex-absorbing completly though, but it's worth it if you ask me.

Personally, I use holy. I use holy a lot. Holy da bess. EX depletion is always good cause EX depletion is pretty OP stuff. Also Side by Side for more OPness from flare spam.
