I'm also a Squall user, and those banish traps can be very annoying. :P
It somehow just doesn't feel as satisfying as when you pummel them into the wall and/or floor instead, and it's not as damaging either. x)
I usually use a Brave Wall Rush build for my Squall, to power up both Beat Fang and Heel Crush, both of which I use abundantly (in AI battles).

Also, I don't like that when battling AI's, they know exactly where and when they'll get teleported, so they may catch you by surprise, right in the middle of an attack.

im replying here with regards to my hate on banish traps.. we are going off-topic on that mission thread.

anyway, I hate Banish traps because it removes the chance of Wallrush. I'm a Squall user, and i'm fond on using BeatFang and MysticFlurry. Both have Wallrushes, and Banish traps removes that.
But yes, Banish traps have some good uses/advantages especially on Ultimecia's Tower. If you are fighting against WoL or Tidus, the roof's Banish traps are your bestfriend.
