Yeah, sorry about that, the thing is that the version of the modding suite your are talking about (which is actually the last version) was an online tool (so I could post updates without having everyone to download the tool again). But only a few people were using it, so I thought it didn't worth it paying another year of hosting,,, Now the modding is back and everyone noticed. Still the only actually usefull thing was the package (un)packer.

No, the effects appear for animations with certain names. if you saw my first video with the test dummy aeris model, her running animation (used when she jumps) has one of Tifa's attack effects attached, because they happen to share the same animation name.

Yeah, the effects tell them which animation to play for each attack, which to play when to move and so on.

I think the abilities are shared between player and assist. It would make sense, since you can't have a player without an assist.

Well I really wanna see what happens tbh But the only thing in the way is that she hangs when you try to load her. So either they took out that code to be used for a dlc player, or they purposely dummied it out. Either way If I could find out where that data is, I could just copy it from another character and assign it to her I guess. It's definitely strange since Cid works, even though he's not a proper player either.

Do you think it's possible to make an ability modifier?

I wanna see if Aeris can equip her abilities in the menu. Like Chaos she can't equip anything, but he does actually have attacks.

I can't start my US copy from Duodecim anymore ? Shall I reupload it from PSN ?

So I downloaded them and put them into PSP/GAME folder
But when I want to activate the downgrader it says I can't open this file. [PSP>GAME>GAME>6.xx Downgrader v4>EBOOT.PBP]
