The Duodecim Tricks and Tactics Guide
Here you can see how to do those tournament battle styles, specifically tips and tricks.
To guide you in the right track, there are things that can be used as mind game, or tactics that may change the game course. This thread particularly pertains to beginner players in AdHoc and PvP, so expect that the tricks are common. This may also help novice players, as I may post some submissions from the discussion thread or discover something new.
Please refrain from posting here, you may post in this section.

Trick # 1: Dash Cancelling
As for some very experienced players, faking their Free Air Dashes can really confuse their opponents. It can be used for controlling Air Games, and camping to see if the opponent likes to dash and block, or just dash and attack. Air Dash Faking is a move that can be used mainly against Human players, since Ghosts or AI can easily identify it.
How can you do this?
In performing a normal Free Air Dash, you hold the R button and then press and hold the triangle button. In cancelling a FAD, however, you won't hold the R and triangle button, instead, you quickly press the both of them then release. I don't recommend faking an Air Dash by blocking at the end, since you may suffer from critical damage your opponent may throw at you after a failed attempt at a block. Here's a match concerning Fake FAD's.
*This video belongs to kouryu15, I only used it for demonstration. Awesome matches, must watch.*
Note that you need to practice this first before taking it to PvP battles, since it can be often cancelled by a block. You can be attacked after a failed block with criticals, so use with caution. Hope this helps.
