Necrobumping the hell out of this thread.
Here's a video with Max (the online warrior guy) talking about the game:
It actually looks like a really solid RPG based on Monster Hunter's battling but with like Assassin's Creed's controls and a world size comparable to any mmo or western RPG. I'm actually kind of excited, I just hope capcom doesn't stay retarded and completely omit co-op (but screw online :P).
I've also seen sections that have platforming highly reminiscent of Uncharted (or AC as previously mentioned). It kind of looks like it's going to be a winner on all fronts, so long as it doesn't take the Nintendo style approach of being about a third of the length it should be.

I heard Monster Hunter and I'm already sold, I just hope it's on PSN.
If Skyrim was on PSN then this should be (based on size limits mostly, I don't use the PSN so I don't know the criteria).
It looks as though it will be worth actually getting anyway.

I really enjoyed the demo, but they made it way too easy, so it's not too fun to replay. Seems promising though, it's fluid, fun, and has a lot of variety.

Spoiler:
How well does the jumping on monsters work?

It's quite easy really, You can jump on any part as long as it's within grab range (R2 is grab)
It also depletes your stamina gauge slowly but if the enemy is trying to shake you off it takes a chunk off then.
I actually killed myself by accident when replaying the demo several times.
The opponent started flying when I grabbed on and I didn't have enough stamina. But it went high enough to actually get me killed when I let go.
That sounds cool. Does it actualy help kill stuff or is it just for the fun of it?

It helps you kill, There are certain parts that you have to remove because it causes too much trouble.
The Chimera for instance gave the perfect example of it.
You got the Lion the goat and the snake.
the goat covers the lion's head if you're trying to jump on the lion, The snake covers the goat if you're trying to attack that.
Each part also had a specific weakness, the snake was weak to physical attacks while the goat is neutral on both physical and magical.
and the lion is resistant against physical attacks.
Since the chimera is on the move constantly you need to hop on and stab it. He also hits hard so it's the safest way to attack.
The snake and the goat also cast magic. which you need to get rid of to have an easier enemy pattern.
I believe this is heavily inspired by MH if i'm not mistaken. (I didn't play MH often but i'm pretty sure that's where the idea came from)
I'm glad to hear it's not a gimmick. The thought of using it tactically like that is awesome.
