This is a translation to the recently released JP official quest, about Shantotto
Just a short translation this time, only covered the main points, not sentence by sentence on dialog, since I suck at that
This little quest or event happens between Theater No. 015 and Theater No. 002.
Inside ( ) are my thoughts.
================================================== =======
At the beginning, it is stated that Shantotto spent lots of time on her magic research, and she knew about the purification (cycle) of the Dissidia world. After she heard from Prishe that the Dimensional Rift appeared in this world, she decided to make her new path.
In her last conversation with Cosmos, Shantotto said that the lost of her memory (from the repeating cycle) is a big hindrance to her research, she would like to quit the job of a warrior and leave. Even in another world, she will pray for victory for the Cosmos side. After a Goodbye, she departs.
(Shantotto acted kind and polite here :P)
Later, Shantotto destroyed a gateway/dungeon and Garland saw that. He questioned her why she destroying those instead of setting them free (or release, liberate, about that meaning).
Shantotto replied that breaking gateways/dungeons, these type of unstable "space", would create an entrance/exit to the Dimensional Rift.
Garland was surprised. He said she was so arrogant that she thinks she could get out of this world (cycle).
After their battle, (didn't mention or I may have missed, Garland was probably the boss of another gateway/dungeon) a door to the Rift opened, which proved Shantotto's theory was correct (she thinks).
Garland warned her that once inside the Rift, she will be trapped forever.
Shantotto laughed: "Ohohohoho, I can't get out by myself?? Haven't you said the same thing for this world just a moment ago? These talks are for cowards.
No more wasting time, I'm going."
She then entered the Rift.
Last word on the black screen:
The door to the Rift disappeared after Shantotto entered. No one has ever seen her from that moment.
But very rarely, when the "space" become unstable again, someone would be leaded to the lady. (referring to Theater No. 002, Shantotto's "story mode")
So she's just like "F*ck you Garland, I'm Shantotto!"
The past is filled with pain and suffering, but all is well if you have fun living.

I'm German, so my English might not be that good ;D
Now I kind of want to see Gabranth's and Prishe's story quests. You know, because there are quests that explain what happened with the other two "secret" characters, Gilgamesh and Shantotto, but the others are still a mystery.
Tidus: (off-screen) Don't do it! He's just gonna try to trick you into sucking his--
Jecht: God DAMMIT BOY! (off-screen) YOU JUST HAVE TO RUIN EVERYTHING, DON'T YOU?! I USED TO BE A WHALE!
Tidus: I though you didn't want to be a whale!
Jecht: OF COURSE I WANTED TO BE A WHALE! I'M GONNA BEAT YOU 'TIL YOU CAN'T WALK!
012 Main: Zidane
012 Secondaries/Fun to Play as: Emperor, Cloud, Sephiroth, Squall, Laguna, Prishe, Gabranth
Spoiler:
I really wish these original quests could have been made available to everyone. =C
Yeah, it's annoying that they didn't do english translations :/
Thanks for translating it for us Uhjbn =P Now we know how she managed to escape the cycle :3
Interesting. So as it stands, the player's encounters with Shantotto and Gabranth are within the Rift. Gabranth echoes similar sentiments when you confront him, how he tried to leave the war, and then was trapped in whatever hell he's in now.

"The only time you run out of chances is when you stop taking them."
So... The Emperor is the Ruler of the Rift?
...CoD and Exdeath should be grovelling at his feet.
