Well, the title pretty much sums it up. I've heard that FFXIV is getting the much needed fixes that it needed when the game came out. I avoided that game whenever i saw all of the reviews and such, which really bummed me out considering i played FFXI for who knows how long. (Maxed just about everything that could be maxed) I guess the main question is that now that the game has been out for almost a year... Is it worth getting yet? I need a new MMOPRG to play.
Also, if you guys are avid mmo gamers, feel free to recommend something else to bide my time. Ill be getting a job soon so ill be able to actually pay for stuff later in the year.

First of all, Thanks for the Reply.
After Reading that, it DOES seem like it's a bit more playable now. I might try it out.
In all honesty though, you start reading that thread and it becomes somewhat of a argument. So, assuming that you play yourself, Azazer, What do you think? (i don't have any idea if you do, like i said, assuming)
Should i wait till it gets a few more updates or is it enjoyable as it is?
Im all for new things, Im trying my best not to go play DDO or diablo 2 again for like the 20th time.

I personally wouldn't bother with it until the PS3 version comes out, even if you plan to play the PC version, since the release of the PS3 version hinges on it not sucking.
In all honesty? Whether or not the game is currently "playable" or even "enjoyable" comes down to your standards of what an MMO should be and at what level is an MMO "acceptable." Since the official release of Final Fantasy XIV and during the time in which I actively participated, Final Fantasy XIV has not provided an experience I would consider "enjoyable." Instead, I find it closer to a more invested version of a Facebook game - and all the tedium involved with one. And with the fixes of patch 1.18, I found that the game has moved in a vastly different direction than I had been hoping for.
As for other MMOs...I'm guessing that DDO is Dungeons and Dragons Online? But in any case, the games I can pull from the top of my head:
Aeria Games:Though to be honest the grind in most Aeria Games a level of grinding that far exceeds my preference.
- Eden Eternal
- Grand Fantasia
- Shin Megami Tensei: Imagine
Nexon:Honestly of the free MMOs that I've played, I most often enjoy those from Nexon. Of course...I still hate their service (like everyone else).
- Dragon Nest
- Mabinogi
- Vindictus (Mabinogi Heroes)
Outspark:I haven't played any of Outspark's games in years...so I'm not sure what the current state is
- Fiesta
EDIT:
If you'd like to see the direction that I had been hoping Final Fantasy XIV would be heading in, feel free to visit the only stickied thread in this section.
