Why are people so butthurt about the FFX Remaster for the PS3/Vita?

Ok, so I should probably preface this by saying that it isnt a problem ive seen here on DF, but on the Internet in general.

So, Sony announced (At TGS IIRC) that Final Fantasy X is coming to the PS3/Vita (few details have been released regarding it other than it exists, but the thread is over here, possibly making this thread unnecessary.)

After the announcement, instead of emailing Square and telling them they could "have all of my money," an action I admittedly comprehended for a time, instead pretty much everywhere people opened their big fat cakeholes and started complaining about the fact that they kind of missed remaking 7, and to a lesser extent 8 and the far superior 9.

You know, I think that people are misunderstanding whats really going on. It isnt a remake, its a port thats getting some freshening up. Hey! Want to know a game that was ported to a later system before this one? How about Final Fantasy 7, 8, and 9 were ported to the PSP, and also the the PS3 via PSN.

And before that, Final Fantasies 1 through 6 were ported to all kinds of different systems. So, when people think that 7 is getting the shaft, I think that they really don't get it. They were ported, now its FFX's turn. Day one purchase.

Heres to hoping FF12 gets ported over to the PS3/Vita soon too.

1-6 Were ported to better systems and actually looked and/or played better. 7, 8, and 9 are on psn and you have to suffer through terrible graphics on an hdtv or gimped controls somewhat on a psp along with glitchy gameplay. X is getting an hd remaster how are those games not getting the shaft.

Because people keep saying "Remake" instead of "Remaster". It leads people to think that the game is being made from scratch, when in fact it'll just be a port like 7-9.

The next games to get remade properly will be 5&6, and maybe then they'll do the PS1 era. Maybe.

The reason FFX is being done over the rest is because it's easier simply put.

you know how much work would have to be put in to make... I dunno... a WORLD MAP in PS3 titles of games?

And there's the final answer. Pretty much spot on.

A remaster is easier. It'll still bring in a LOT of profit and it won't take years to make. Maybe when development for Versus is FINALLY over, we'll see a true remake of 7, 8, or 9. Quite frankly, though, they don't have the resources, people, or time to devote to a remake of those 3 what with Versus, KH3D, KH3, etc. That would take a hell of a lot more work and time than this simple remaster.

I understand all that already, but people do have a reason to bitch. I do think they've overexaggerated how much it would take to remake one of those games since they fluctuate between 5 and 30 years. And they have been taking forever to make some sub par final fantasies as of late. Maybe versus will be good enough to distract people.

I'm only butt hurt over it because I hate X, and even then, I don't have a ps3 so I don't really give a rat's ass. Plus, it appears that way because IX and VII have massive fanbases who whine about not getting a remake every chance they get.

lol fanboys. It's not even a remake, it's a port. People like that will bitch no matter what you give them.

V and VI have yet to have a true remake unlike FFI - IV. This is another reason people have been 'butthurt.'

I and II has 1 remake and one redesign.
III has had one VERY different remake.
IV has had one port, one remake and one redesign.

V has had two ports.
VI has also had two ports.

V or VI has not had a remake or a redesign at all yet. Which is why many people are annoyed. I'm still also looking for a real remake of III.

That's completely subjective. All they care about are the magazines and the reviewers. X, XII, and XIII all got magnificent scores across the board. That's all they care about. Your personal feelings are just a subjective view point. They don't care about us. They care about the money---the money that this remaster of FFX is going to pull in for them.

Also, unless you go into a game design course and learn the industry in and out, don't say they're "over-exaggerating." If anything, they definitely know way more about how long it would take them to make their own product than you.
