I'm still trying to find people to play. Last I checked, adhoc was having some problems with Dissidia, which meant playing online didn't work. Have they fixed the issue? If so, send me a friend request (PSN: VinasErgoth) and a message telling me who you are.

They fixed the issue, but it still derps sometimes from my POV. So ya, people play it now.

Do players even appear when you use different versions? I tried to play with ShinryuVerusn, but I could only request a battle without being able to connect to him.
I think he couldn't see me on the players selection.
Does it now confirm that I have the EU ver, or was it just some connection issue?

Must be connection issue. If I'm not mistaken, different versions can't even see each other on Lobby.

You're mistaken. Different versions can see one another, but the battle request always times out.

Is someone from my city actually, we were trying to play with different versions and we really didn't even see each other's room on Group (At least without Ad Hoc Party, I don't know if works different)
