Here's a small FAQ for Triple Triad on the forums. If you have any other questions, ask them in this thread. Also, note that this version of Triple Triad still has its defects, which we will try to fix as soon as possible. Enjoy!

What is Triple Triad?
Triple Triad is the card game from Final Fantasy VIII, where players battle each other with cards featuring Final Fantasy VIII's monsters, summons and characters.

How can I access Triple Triad?
You can access the forums' Triple Triad feature to the link in the navbar, under the banner. Or, alternatively, you can use this link.

How does Triple Triad work?

How do I get new cards?
New cards can either be won from other players, or purchased from the Triple Triad store, using Gil. The store can be found here.

What's the difference between the packs?
There are 2 Starter Decks, which cost 70G a piece. A Starter Deck includes either Ifrit or Shiva, and 9 random cards up to LV7. The other 3 choices are Booster Packs, which include 5 random cards. The more expensive the pack, the bigger the chance for rare cards. Some cards may also only be found in certain packs!

How do I get Gil?
Gil will be distributed every Sunday, based on several visible and hidden forum factors. Out of these factors, Reputation weighs most, so being a helpful member helps you in the game! One thing to make note of is that you will only receive your weekly Gil, if you've visited the forums in the past week.

What cards are available?
At the moment only LV1 to LV9 Final Fantasy VIII cards are available, which means no character cards. We're still in the process of figuring out what to do with character cards, as we don't want everyone to have every character card. They need to be genuinely rare. Please allow us some more time for this issue. As for other Final Fantasy game cards; Expansions will become available at a later date.

How do I challenge another member to a match?
Challenging someone is done through the Battle Arena. Just enter the member's name and press "Continue." When this is done, the challenged member will receive a notification of it. CPU matches are currently unavailable. To make things easier for both players, we advice you to join the IRC channel #TripleTriad on IRCHighway, as there is no in-game communication through the forums.

I cancelled a match and lost all my cards! What happened!?
This is a bug that seems to happen on certain occasions, when cancelling a challenge. The system thinks you're still in a match and thus doesn't allow you to use the cards you're using in that match. Your cards will come back to you after having played another match. I would appreciate it if you save me the effort, but if this happens to you and you have no reserve cards for another match, please send me a PM or VM me (at least some of) the cards you selected and the member you challenged. I will then, albeit probably not instantly, properly cancel the match for you. I hope this bug will be fixed very soon, please be patient.

I only have 4 cards left, what do I do now?
Sadly, nothing. When you have only 5 cards to begin with, don't play a match with any Victory rule. If you're stubborn and do so any way, you'll have to wait a week, in order to purchase another pack.

Can I trade cards with other members?
Not yet, but it's in the works.
