Are they seriously stupid or something? Dragon Quest X Online? Really? They are making ANOTHER MMO out of one of their franchises? Come on guys, XI was beautiful, but after XIV I don't think many people are going to give your MMO's a chance until you fix XIV first.

Square was actually nearly bankrupt multiple times around the launch of FF9. It's the only reason that Enix didn't join them in 2000 (the merger was in 2003). It's conceivable that they could, as any major business has risks and the current market isn't exactly great.

Bankrupt themselves? Not quite. It's as if they're under the illusion that, due to the fact that many games these days have online capabilities and 99% of their success is dervived from it (CoD for example), it seems they believe that they can do the same. Of course, not to say that an MMO is a bad idea; it's just that SE's recent history for crappy MMOs(FF:XIV)is SUPPOSED to be implying that they may wish to revise on how to make a decent MMO. My opinion is that they should try... looking at FFXI and other MMOs for inspiration on how to successfully create a multiplayer RPG video-game.
