kinda late here too, cant believe I hadn't voted in this one already. Not needed though; I vote for Squall anyway My first FF hero, and shall be the last. I never felt closer to anyone else in the series (although he doesn't have cecil/zidane's kindness, he is most unique)

Squall Leonhart of course. Good leader and while not the most prefect hero, that is what makes him so great !

Rinoa. Her and Squall were the main reason Final Fantasy VIII were so awesome. But out of the two, Ms Heartily wins. Go Rinoa!

I say Squall Leonheart because i can relate to him in sooo many ways theres no point in even laughing about it.

I also picked Squall because of the same reasons like many others:
I can relate to him and think he's an interesting character, who is really deep.

Still don't get statements like:"Squall is an emo, Cloud is way cooler".

And whatever, he looks really cool with his Witch Knight outfit.
