For example I'd definitely charge Shadow Flare for Squall, and be much more defensive if I were fighting Golbez.
What does charge SF mean? Do you mean spam it? If that's what you meant... why would you be spamming SF on Squall but not on Golbez?
On Exdeath, it's a pretty bad matchup anyway. 7.5 in his favor, there's really not much you can do about him., other than meybe core camp and HG Maelstrom, but that's not very effective either. Better than trying to get into him anyway.
Before anyone asks me about my Sephiroth AGAIN, if you wanna know how I play, just check my YT. There's a link in my sig.
To TKG, I only mean that I would spam Shadow Flare on Squall because he doesn't have very many options to retaliate with if I was far away, unlike Golbez who can attack from close range and from long range simultaneously.
As for Exdeath...well...let's just say I try not to fight him as much as possible.

No, on the contrary; Golbez is the one who can't do anything about SF; this matchup is completely in Sephiroth's favor simply because of that; he can't do anything to SF spam. As for Squall, he can indeed do a lot about SF spam; watch cooldudes video on the forums channel.
I'll take your word for it. I'm not sure if you're talking about PvP or CPU, but most of my experience is, to my chagrin, against CPU. I'll be sure to give the video a look.

Personally I dont main him but from time to time I'll pick him up I dont think I have a specific play style. I normally stay in the air using shadow flare godspeed and oblivion and when opportunity comes use hells gate, for a defensive measure I use scintilla.

And I call myself a Squall-mainer. -_-
I have seriously been neglecting Fire Barret in my game play lately so I've forgotten about Fire Barret's pressure ability.
To TheLionsHeart, That's exactly how my aerial moveset is set up right now. = ]
To anyone curious, I currently do have a couple videos saved of Sephiroth vs. Exdeath. Both have Exdeath on Maximum, but one is set to Cautious while the other is Vicious.

No, you don't really wanna ditch SC. It is very crucial to Sephiroth's game and without it he's not really good.
On Squall, Fire Barret won't do much to Sephiroth. What Squall needs to do is stay on Sephiroth's face and punish shit with BF.
True enough about Sudden Cruelty. I'm not discounting that fact because your right. It's one of Sephiroth's best tools for building EX and also one of his most damaging moves in his entire arsenal. I just like to challenge myself by switching things up every-now-and-then. = ]
To Reikou, I've watched multiple videos and just by them I've decided to use Fire Barret MUCH more often. X)
