Out of allthe Kingdom Hearts games that came out here in North America (Japan, too), which game was your favorite, and which one did you dislike the most (not hate...just dislike.)?
Personally, I really enjoyed Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix, for the increased difficulty and all the extras (oh critical mode, you). The one I had the least fun with was Re:Chain of Memories...didn't like how all the floors (except Twilight Town, Destiny Island, Traverse Town, and Castle Oblivion) felt...i dunno...unimportant? Oh, and that card system, too.
What are your opinions?![]()

I loved birth by sleep for the gameplay and KH2 for the story. Um I don't dislike any but my least favorite is chain of memories 2. I never truly got the card thing but it never mattered since I beat the game XD
I'm sure my favorite would be Birth by Sleep Final Mix if I played it and had friends to play it with. For now, though... it's between BBS and the first one.
If they went and added some special missions in 358/2 for co-op that were actually hard and threw in some optionals, that could be my favorite. Just loved playing as Organization members.
Least favorite is original Chain of Memories on GBA. Only reason I actually went and level 100'd it was 'cause it was the only RPG on my GBA at the time and it definitely made class suck less. I feel like Re:CoM fixed my problems with it, but it's still least favorite.
My favourite would tie between Birth By Sleep Final Mix, Re: Chain of Memories and II Final Mix. Loved that extra stuff.
Generally my least favourite would be Re: coded. I mean, the gameplay is brilliant by the story in itself lacked. I guess it gave me somewhat some pleasure waiting up till Dream Drop Distance but I was still slightly less than satisfied.
I'm just sitting here tight playing KH1: Final Mix while I wait.

Tbh I love them all, except for Coded. That is possibly the worst KH game ever. The endings are the only interesting parts lol.
My favourite is the first one. It's the most surprising in terms of story (come on, you all knew that guy was Rikku and thingy was not the real Ansem) and I think it had by far the best combat to puzzle to story ratio. KHII in comparrison often felt like the levels were too short and easy, with one crazy boss fight (or several) and waaaaaay too much linearity. Plus they ruined the magic system, KHI had the best magic system (and an awesome combo system that they also ruined) that I have seen in an adventure or hack'n'slash game. Then in KHII they ruined it (I mean one curaga? What the hell is that crap?) with the saving grace being the ability berserk, which was actually quite handy, if they mixed the 2 together it would be perfect. On the other hand, the general combat flow was much better in KHII and easily the best so far (BbS was close, but not quite there). The only thing I didn't like about BbS was that the missions were incredibly short.
As for the worst one, I think as much as it was fun that CoM was pretty lame, the whole door key thing got tedious before long (especially when you're in a hard area and you end up with just the swarming cards) but the worst one for me is 358/2 days. I think it was just pointless fanservice for Axel fanboys. Okay the combat wasn't the worst and the story wasn't completely awful, but it was just a waste of time. Same with Coded and 3D, it's just filler before we get an actually important game.

So, a lot of people here really like KH, eh? Awesome xD
Now then...is there a boss (story-related, or optional) that you absolutely CAN'T stand? (I'm looking at you, Mysterious Figure...what the...OH CRAP *proceeds to run like a bitch*)

Cookies, you just took all the words right out of my mouth <3 the original was the best. The one area I would say it fails by today's standards is the extremely clunky controls. They improved that in KH2 and expanded on your attack list but... that made the game absolutely piss easy. You could just hammer X and lolhax autocombo your way through every encounter, occasionally hitting Triangle for a (completely unearned) visually awesome auto kill.
I also disliked the direction the story went KH2 onwards, Nobodies paving the way for more ridiculous enemy types like the Unversed (god only knows what they're gonna call enemies in the 3ds game, inb4 the Baddie Dreamies), and the Organization inspiring creepy fangirls worldwide to create hideous yaoi fanfiction (Axel being the biggest offender). Don't get me wrong, I really enjoyed the game at the time for the easy but fun combat, but looking back something about the art direction and the story focus was... wrong. KH1 was 'Disney feat. Final Fantasy'. KH2 became 'watered down Final Fantasy feat. Disney'.
As for the worst of the series, I'm also with Cookies: hands down 358/2 days. I've never been so bored with Kingdom Hearts, I think the only part of the game I genuinely enjoyed was the last mission where you go god mode dual wielding. The story was nothing short of atrocious, but I suppose it's just right for anyone who enjoys seeing a comatose pantywaist and an insufferable douche sweet talk each other while sucking on ice cream for hours on end. And no, it wasn't 'awesome' playing as Organization members, you may as well just crudely photoshop their faces onto Roxas, or pick Marluxia because (iirc) he had the most overpowered bitching combo.
See...that's why they made Final Mix; play that, if you seek more challenge! Although I do agree that in KH2, the Final Fantasy characters felt like they were just...there.
And yes, the missions in 358/2 Days can get tedious if you're in a hurry (damn you, Emerald Serenade!!! >_<). I did enjoy the story, but yeah, Axel was kind of an ass. I wonder why they made him like that, though...OH, it was probably to please the fanz with all the yaoi fanfiction stuff (still love ya, Xion. Screw the haters!); didn't you notice a hint of...jealousy, when Roxas included Xion in his friend circle?
P.S.: the new enemies are called "Dream Eaters", by the way. It's...eh, no comment on that one.
