This thread has been created in the hopes of bringing life back into the discussion of Kuja as a character instead of an assist :P
I will post videos and general information as I immerse myself back into the online community and I will be open to any questions, comments, suggestions, or requests. The last time I got serious with Kuja I was able to get this sucker all the way up to top tier and now some people are already considering him mid tier! Let's see if I can't change that or at least make him look a little better so people will actually start playing him, haha.
To start things off I have began with a basic combo video demonstrating some One Bar assist combos with Gilgamesh, Jecht, and Sephiroth. I think Departure from Megaman Zero 2 fits well for inspirational music to get me back into the community. This video was also a test to see how well I can edit videos and how fast I can upload them to youtube. I'm pretty happy with the results.
If you would like me to experiment with any other assists and make a video on them after making my findings, just ask. As I am well aware, some people don't like using Jecht and Sephiroth assists, haha.
Going back to the assists, I felt like Gilgamesh, Jecht, and Sephiroth are Kuja's best assists when it comes to versatility and damage potential. Gilgamesh doesn't require any floors or walls with some of his combos so you can be all the way out in the middle of nowhere in the Rift and still pull off a full combo with him. Sephiroth is overall the best for Kuja but his Assist Chase make it impossible/hard to extend the final portions of the combo with Snatch Shots > Strike Energy/Burst Energy. With Gilgamesh and Jecht you can do something like Snatch Shots > Energy Burst > Assist > Snatch Shots > Strike Energy, but with Sephiroth you are stuck with a simple Strike Energy or Flare Star at the end. This is however made up with the fact you can get in a Strike Energy or Energy Burst during Sephiroth's attack. Jecht is Kuja's best assist for damage potential. As you can see in the video, you can easily get off 2/3 attacks on the opponent while Jecht wails away at them. Be warned though, it is possible to accidentally push the enemy out Jecht Rush/Stream too early.
I hope to get some videos up soon on some actual gameplay of Kuja with educational notes tacked on.

Thanks Nexus! If I ever get comfortable with Kuja, expect the same kind of information from me with him that you'd expect on the Jecht forums. I'm all for the sharing of information.

Spoiler:
Hopefully I'll be able to challenge people to FT10's for weekend events. Being able to sit down with someone and have a good 10-20 fights to analyze and upload will be very helpful.

I really like how you used Gilgamesh off of Snatch Blow's chase, perhaps you could do something similar with Cecil?

Even though you covered most of this in that video, I thought I might as well dump my combo video here
Should work fine since (from my experiences with Jecht), aerial Cecil acts almost identical to Gilgamesh except reliable aerial damage. If I'm not mistaken, his aerial attack is a little longer than Gilgamesh... maybe opening some other possibilities?

I'll have to give Cecil a look into tomorrow to see if I can get any good combos off of him now that Vey brings it up. Cecil has a poor ground assist, but luckily the only time Kuja will be flooring anyone is if he does it in chase, so 99% of the time you'll be doing air assist combos. The timing might be tighter for Cecil, but you should definitely be able to get him to hit after a wall rush from chase.
Me and Zel have a fated grudge match this weekend, so I'll be having a good 10+ Kuja vs. Cloud videos to sort through and upload by the end of the week or the beginning of the next. It might give us something to talk about and discuss match up wise :P

I've always thinked that Kuja is a great character and great for playing, In fact he's one of my mains, I love the video you made of kuja and his assist combos. Just a question Nexus, what assist you use personally and which HP attacks? I usually use Sephiroth as an assist and for HP attacks Flare Star, Seraphic Star And Force Symphony
Mains: Kain
I personally like to use characters I enjoy playing as for assists, such as Gilgamesh and Zidane, but from a competitive standpoint, the best assist I would use is Sephiroth. I use Seraphic Star, Flare Star, and either Ultima or Force Symphony depending on the match up. For example, I like to use Ultima against Golbez and Kefka because it is easy to punish a HP spamming Golbez with Ultima, and Kefka moves around so much you might never get the opportunity to use Force Symphony. Force Symphony would be better to use on Emperor or any other character you can halo camp safely, however. All his HP attacks are pretty handy in their niche though, depending on your play style.
If you are using an assist like Gilgamesh or Jecht though, Ultima is almost mandatory.
