I made a thread for my graphic art, so I figured I might as well make one for my non-graphic art as well. And for those of you keeping score, this makes four threads I've made with 'Vance' in the title (Intro, replays, GFX, and now general art).

I draw a lot, so I'm only posting what I feel is the best of my most recent work here. If you want to see more, I (eventually) post pretty much everything I finish on my Deviantart page.

Wow glad to see another good person who draw really well. Do you intend of finishing the shading? I draw anime characters so I tend to shade alot more. That fan art was nicely done with the coloring. You draw in steps huh?

Do you intend of finishing the shading? I draw anime characters so I tend to shade alot more.

I never go back to do more work on something after I consider it finished. Picking up something I've already put down just to tweak it a bit is just not fun to me. So if it's on the internet, I'm most likely not touching it again. The one big exception is that sometimes I will take an old drawing into photoshop to ink and color it (Probably should have mentioned the inks and colors on Aquaman were done in PS. Also, "doodle" was done 100% in photoshop).

Shading in general is something I don't always do. It depends on whether or not I feel like it and whether or not I think the specific drawing needs it. Honestly, I really should do it more often. And that Elf Warrior would have been better off with some, although that's in hindsight.

My own style has a heavy Anime/Manga influence since when I first started seriously working on improving I was still in my Anime obsession phase and read a lot of 'How to draw Manga' books. Here lately though I've been trying to lean back towards a more American-comic/Bruce Timm style.

You're referring to the guidelines still visible on the doodle, correct? Yes, that's how I learned how to draw. I usually draw out a full manikin of guidelines, though I don't need them nearly as bad as I use to.
