I've never seen Nero's explanation of how Battle Ring works prior to now. Everyone else I know thought it did nothing more than it says on the description. The explanation Nero has provided fully explains the so called glitches that have been experienced.

You guys are saying that even if I don't equip the "5% Free Assist" acc, the game will sometimes still treat it as if I have the acc equipped and just either let me keep one bar for using HP assist or not use any bars at all?

No, we're asking if you have it equipped or not. If you do have it equipped, this is not a glitch, but Battle Ring performing its function.

I didn't have it equipped at the time. I never, ever use it.

So there's still no explanation for this? XD That kinda sucks.

Ugh. Figures. Yeah, I am at a loss for an explanation aside from "it's just a random glitch".

Most likely a glitch, Dissidia seems to say "OH HEY A GLITCH" whenever I don't want a glitch (like when I couldn't lock an assist even though they didn't have fiery spirit -_-)

Oh, I see what he meant now. In that case it's a 9.5% chance to keep a single bar. If that's how it's calculated (5% for each).

That would be the Battle ring that we've been discussing for the past 2 pages.

There has to be a specific trigger that causes this sort of thing to happen. It's certainly not a one-time only glitch for sure.

From looking at what happened here could be any of the following triggers:

1. You broke and triggered assist in the same move.
2. You were in the middle of a move. You continued that move on and triggered the assist.
3. You were in Ex-Mode
4. You canceled your move and then went into it again.

Any of these might have been the trigger. Have you tried replicating it firstly?
