yeah so... I'm kinda a noob at Dissidia and I was watching this video
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zxau7Da6gRc

What kind of dodge is he using? I always mess up my ground combos because every time I use a NDC, I end up slightly in the air

Probably just a regular dodge. To be honest, people don't play the old Dissidia anymore, and i don't think Precision Dodge exists in the original Dissidia, but then again I could be wrong.

You mean reverse dodge cancel? In the air (cant do it from the ground), dodge backwards and quickly move your character forward - start with wide circles until you get used to it then tighten them up. They let you dodge forward a bit without gaining height.

I don't think it is... when I do a regular dodge, the range is bigger and I end of slightly off the ground most of the time

Also, I do have 012, but I'm not finished with this one yet xD

I don't think that's what it is... if you watch 0:27, he dodges on the ground

I don't think Golbez is considered "on the ground" in a lot of his stances. You'll need a Golbez player to confirm this but I'm pretty sure him and CoD are aerial a lot more than grounded which is why Golbez can do that from a lot of positions. You wouldn't be able to with just about anyone else though.

Veysey is right. Golbez's attacks leave him airborne, so the dodges you're seeing are aerial dodges, not ground dodges. Try taking off Golbez's ground dodges and you'll see the cancels work anyway. Other than that, just practice what Vey said about controlling the dodge path.

    Though apart, forever connected.

I'm not exactly sure what you mean... do you mean to dodge backwards, and then dash forwards?

    no

the cancel is quite simple, you can move your charecter around during the dodge, a reverse dodge cancel is a trick to dodge forward, or nuetral, but remain at the same hieght, some different variations, like turn dodges, allow for you to do combos with sneak attack such as Upper blues > beatfang. in DFF, turn dodges were quite often used to connect combos that wouldn't normally connect through shortening dodge frames.
