    Default Counterattacking Squall with Cloud

    Counterattack skill MUST BE EQUIPPED!

First tutorial too btw. DO NOT BE RUDE! >:O I hope this will be very helpful for those who likes Cloud vs Squall in Dissidia.

This can also work in 9/9 strength and behavior.

Well, I'll first start from saying this. Squall is an awesome character. He has quick attacks but he is easy to counterattack too.

It is good to know that Squall can be counterattacked. Here, let me discuss some tricks for you.

Heel Crush Counterattack : If Squall is not too high, you can easily counterattack him. It is impossible if you are in ground and he casts Heel Crush in a high position. So, before he starts to kick, use Double Cut.

Beat Fang Counterattack : You think it's impossible? It is possible. Dodge quickly! After he pulls the trigger. Use Climhazzard. (it sometimes work. It doesn't always work.)

Mystic Flurry Counterattack : Just dash towards him while summoning exploding ices and use Slashing Blow. You can use Omnislash V.5 too if you want.

Thunder Barret Counterattack : Before he casts the lightnings. Quickly use Climhazzard if you are far from him. You can use Sonic Break and Double Cut to if you are near him. Cross Slash will work too in Dissidia 012 if you are distant.

Aerial Circle Counterattack : This is easy to counterattack. Use Double Cut before he pulls the trigger. Or if you did not equip Double Cut. Use Sonic Break. It is very effective especially when you're in EX mode. You can also use Climhazzard if you dodged (this sometimes fail). Quickly use it before he dodges.

Fated Circle Counterattack : Just like Aerial Circle. You can use those skills. But if you are in midair, use Braver. (this sometimes fail too if you did not watch your timing.)

Upper Blues Counterattack : The skill is impossible to counterattack. But Double Cut is effective.(not always effective)

Fullisade Counterattack : Just block those fires and ices. Before he casts the lightning, quickly use Double Cut (if you are near Squall). You can also use Climhazzard (if you are far from Squall ) and Sonic Break (if you're near).

Rough Divide Counteratttack : When he lands, (make sure you dodged Squall) quickly use Double Cut or Sonic Break. +Finishing Touch is much better. NOTE : HE CAN SOMETIMES DODGE SONIC BREAK TOO SO I RECOMMEND DOUBLE CUT.

Solid Barrel Counterattack : Well, it is nearly impossible to counterattack Solid Barrel. Do not backstep too far from him so you can Double Cut him. Dodge in midair and use Aerial Fang. (effective only in Dissidia 012)

Ice Barret Counterattack : If you are far from Squall. Use Climhazzard. + DC and SB is good too . If you're near, Use Sonic Break or Double Cut. Blade Beam is NOT effective.

P.S. I am not saying Squall is weak. I just wanted to help people. There are also many characters who can counterattack Squall. Still, Squall's an awesome dude and kicks ass. I hope you find this guides helpful

Squall is also badass in counterattacking too because of his quick attacks.]

To be completely honest, a lot of these "counter attack" opportunities are ones that could be done either by blocking or waiting for the opponent to move and just punishing their dodge with Slashing Blow. It's possible that some of the attacks are punishable by Double Cut simply due to its speed, but it's not realistic most of the time.

For reference, Braver's frame data is 47F to the first hit, while Aerial/Fated Circle are 43F until the HP hit. If you're trying to advocate using Braver as a reaction to Fated/Aerial Circle, you're essentially telling people a way to get hit.

It's not necessary to always counter an attack... sometimes blocking it (countering if it's a physical attack) and waiting to see what the opponent does will benefit you just as much as slamming your way through it if you can do so.

One last thing to address: when you say "Counterattack skill MUST BE EQUIPPED!" are you talking about the Counterattack ability that enhances critical hit chance when attacking an opponent who is attacking? Because it's really not necessary other than to get additional critical hits. Having the ability off won't affect you being able to attack them in the slightest.

    Though apart, forever connected.

Yes. That Counterattack-critical-hit rising thingy. And I did not mention Braver can counterattack Aerial circle too. Thanks for reminding me btw.

I don't think you quite understood what I meant regarding Braver against Aerial Circle/Fated Circle. You won't see a Squall use Fated Circle unless it's part of a combo with an assist or Thunder Barret most likely, and Aerial Circle is used primarily as a punisher or part of assist combos. Using Braver as a reaction to Aerial Circle/Fated Circle is a bad idea since you'll have to dodge first due to Aerial Circle/Fated Circle not only closing the gap between you and Squall, but it's also faster. Even dodging and responding with Braver won't work.

Some of what you say is semi-useful in PvP, but many people already know to use fast attacks to punish poorly placed attacks or to just block those attacks in general if someone is throwing them out randomly.

    Though apart, forever connected.

No i meant for fighting an Al Squall. I know Braver>Fated Circle or some of Aerial Circle counterattacking won't work in human vs human.

Few people here will be concerned with how to fight an AI enemy. The AI simply serves (for those who have access to PvP) as a base to learn the game and some attacks. They are useful for training against certain attacks or for practicing combos, but usually nothing more.

Also, the AI lets itself get punished really easily. Attacks like Climhazzard will NEVER, EVER, punish Beat fang. Though it may against the AI.

If he means against the AI, that's fine. Although it would be nice if he specified it in the first post
