I was reminiscing about my first time playing this classic. And I realized, though it had been a while, I needed to play it again. As I did I remembered how freaking frustrated I was about how vague this game was. Just wondering, did anyone else ever have these problems? Or was it just me? Oh, and I didn't use a guide or anything my first time. I also found the Air Ship by accident. Have at it!
My Mains: Tifa Lockhart and Cloud Strife.

It was kind of annoying not knowing where to go ever, but figuring it out was half the fun of the game. When I actually figured out where the airship was I felt awesome.

I personally loved how you had almost no idea were to go. but because of that i didn't have to worry about eing too weak or underleveled.
although i think i had the most trouble at the beginning of the game because it used to take me forever to figure out what to do (since i had started playing it when i was a little kid) but it just takes a little while.
Thanks Vamper62 for this perfect sig
Spoiler:
Yea it's a pretty vague game, but it was the first of the series.
Never had a major issue with FF1's vague nature in the NES release, but that's because I completed Dragon Warrior 1 first. Looking back on it as well I find FF2 was much more vague.. Bigger world, needing to use keywords, the world map had no clear splits for new areas and monster spawns. FF1 is indeed in a league of its own compared to the rest of the series though.
I saw this and had to comment. The mystery (vagueness) of the game is half the fun, as stated by several of my friends up here ^^. I actually think that is something the newer FF games need, the element of "where the f am I and where the F do I go?" THAT is what made the game so great. Another element the the vagueness of the game added was that it was designed to make the player feel like he/she was part of the game, thus the ability the rename characters as well.
Oh the memories this brings back)))

yep way too vague
Finished one part of the story? Great go look for another random town in a random place on the map to talk to a random person.![]()
"Becomes Chaos once again; sends the Four Fiends to the future; speaks to his past self who was dying in the future, explaining the 2000-year-time loop to him as he sent him through time, briefly to World A’s past, and then across dimension to World B to take part in Dissidia."
