No, most people do their A-Levels at schools. 6th form Colleges are far less populated.

That rumour has been going on ever since I was back at school, ever since my sister (who's much older than me) was at school.

It's actually true now. My sister is the first year that has to finish school.

My College has over 4000 people.
And that's all the way out in Middlesex much less than colleges in London going up to having a capacity of 20,00 people.
Most schools only have up to 2000 people including the people doing their A-levels.

The difference is that where you might have a couple sixth form colleges in one county, you would have a couple schools that do A Levels in one town. Where I live (with a population of around 35,000) we have 3 schools each with around 600 6th formers, and they're all pretty small schools for the county.


EDIT: And @Kraid, I think it's the second year actually. Either way as of 2013 everyone has to do higher education.
