Introducing the DDFF Expansion!
You've waited long since the teaser, but it's finally here: The Triple Triad DDFF Expansion!
Starting right now you can buy the DDFF packs from the Triple Triad store. The packs are the same price as the FFVIII set, but these packs grant you the rare chance of obtaining a character card! Since the character cards span 3 card levels, it would be most unfair to keep them from you! I wouldn't dare. You know the drill; the more expensive packs give you a greater chance of obtaining higher level cards, much like the FFVIII set.
So, what are you waiting for? You all just got Gil, go buy some packs!

If you find any errors in the cards' names or values, don't hesitate to tell me about it. Getting them ready for use took a lot of mindless typing and I can't imagine I didn't make a typo or 2.
Taking fiction from a good friend for facts is only natural.
How about a contest?!
The details are quite simple: If you have a card and can explain a reference that we had in mind using the card's values (not all the cards have references, mind you...), we'll give you a point for it. Once all the references are found/enough time has passed, we'll crown the winner (who may get a reward for it). And no, none of the people who helped make these cards can participate.
If you want to look at a list of the cards, check out the thread that our lovely Kayarine just posted here.
When you answer, please include the following in your post:
-An image of the card(s) in question
-The reference
In the event that references encompass more than 4 cards (possible? Maybe... Who knows?!) just mention the similarity without listing every card.
Additional rules will include:
-One post per hour
-One card/group guess per post
I'll try and keep track of all the ones found here on this post to let people know which ones are already guessed. No points for duplicate guesses! No penalty for wrong answers, either. Here's a small hint: Not all of the references are solo cards!

Sephiroth's values were placed on the bottom as a direct reference to Aerith's "weakness" to being defeated from above.

Hmmmm Heaven and Hell reference, Ultima's highest value is top (Heaven) and Zalera highest value at the bottom (Hell)
My guess on this one is that Ultima fell from grace? 8 to 7?
...I have no idea what I'm supposed to be looking for.
EDIT: I don't know about that Heaven - Hell reference.
In their lore, Ultima aided Souls in their reincarnation while Zalera judged men upon their death.

Tabi's is right on the money!
Ultima the High Seraph represents the angel-like "salvation", while Zalera the Death Seraph represents the devil-like "damnation". Excellent work! That's one of the harder ones for sure XD
