All right everyone, the first season of the Duodecim Team Wars has officially come to a close today. I'm sure you all have seen the rewards floating around (Spyder graciously presented trophies early when he was last available), but I'll provide a quick recap of all the award winners and their rewards:
The regular season was cut a little shorter than I was planning on, but the results of the regular season's completion include:
Awarded a bronze trophy () for their 280 points and 7-5 record are Prestige, including Dart, Clavier, Furius, Hollowed, and Skyler.
Awarded a silver trophy () for their 316 points and 10-9 record are Dissonant Nexus, including ChaosMuramasa, Khell, Liaku, Cipher, and LXD92.
The champions of the regular season, crowned by a gold trophy () for their staggering 364 points and 16-3 record are Anima Redux, including RandomFactor, DarkSoulXIII, Crash1-2, Blaze, LonelyGaruga, and Kayarine.
Congratulations to all 3 teams on their wonderful performance over the regular season and good luck defending your title in the next season!
Flames of Rebirth
Though the top 3 teams and all others involved fought valiantly, the team to beat was The Black Rose, who took the tournament as undisputed champions by winning all 4 of their rounds. This team is presented with a special platinum championship trophy () to all team members: Shuruka, Kuroraikiri, Kewldude475, Raiko, Ultimaweapon2000, and Dante.
In addition to their trophy, Kurayami has graciously created a championship banner for the winning team incorporating the Flames of Rebirth motif and a symbol of The Black Rose team:
Congratulations to The Black Rose on their splendid performance!
As a reminder, don't let the glory go to your heads... Season 2 will be starting sooner than you think, so be ready to defend your titles, or all the glory will be gone before you know it!
As I mentioned in the tournament thread, I would like for leaders to collect up replays from their members for upload onto the forum's Youtube channel. Please collect as many of the replays as possible and label them for easy access and sorting. It's far easier for one leader to send in all the replays compared to one person (RDF) going through all the replays from a potential 21+ members on his own. Do everyone and our gracious uploader a favor and save him the trouble (because I guarantee you, he doesn't have to kill the fun of searching random replays!).
A recap of what is written in the original tournament thread:
Again, I appreciate if people do this as soon as possible so that the viewers can see these matches as quickly as we can get them up. If you are missing replays for a round, please just say so. We don't hold grudges. Usually.Replays and InformationIt is asked that teams save as many of the matches as possible and please send them to the forum email at email@example.com. We will be hosting these replays up on the forum's Youtube account. In addition, please include the following information in your email:
Round # (Team A vs Team B)
Match 1: Team A Player (Character A) vs. Team B Player (Character B) - Stage - Winning Team [Replay #]
Match 2: Team A Player (Character A) vs. Team B Player (Character B) - Stage - Winning Team [Replay #]
Match 3: Team A Player (Character A) vs. Team B Player (Character B) - Stage - Winning Team [Replay #]
Winner ~ Winning Team Score against Losing Team
For more information on how to send replays via email, check out this thread.
Season 1 was full of ups and downs, and it was a rocky road from start to finish. However, I feel that it was very successful and that we can build up on what was created to improve the conditions for teams in the next season. I hope everyone is looking forward to the changes and the new systems we implement for this occasion. Many of you may have heard that I will be running an exhibition season for the Team Wars starting next week which will last up until and potentially through the next major tournament (depending on scheduling and interest). Expect the second season to start after the major ends, sometime in August.
There are a lot of people to thank in general for participating and reviving this once dead playing style, namely all of the players involved and the people who have enjoyed watching the replays and streams that we've been able to put out. In no particular order, I'd like to thank the following people for their parts in helping with the Team Wars scene and their contributions to making this all happen: Dart, ChaosMuramasa, Shuruka, Veysey, A-ther, Spyder, Draec, and RDFMaster. Thank you to each of you and all of the players again for helping to make this happen. I'd also like to thank Kayarine specifically for designing these trophies for use here, and a special thanks to all the graphic artists who took the time to answer requests for our teams and mercenaries to give them some team spirit as well as some flash.
I'm proud to have become a mod of this community to provide and shape events like this, so I hope you all enjoyed it and will continue to participate with me and the other tournament staff.
