Square bribed Sony to make DDFF incompatible with Ad hoc Party, so more people would buy the original Dissidia.

I have a Vita, and I needed some assistance in gaining some cards, Prior to the update that fixed the connectivity issue I could search and locate a passerby via adhocparty just fine.....
But now, Post patch, in anticipation of connecting with others here, in the process of locating targets my Vita has been rendered unusable completely frozen, with the playstation symbol stuck in it's blue LED to remind me that the device is sleeping. The device is mirroring something similar to the symptoms of a bricked system. Completely unresponsive even to the manual five second POWER OFF command.
Anyone have any ideas as to what could have lead me to this dilemma?
