I'd wanna say something about anime that feel the need to align characters with a certain personality, or have to "fill out a roster" of all the different archetypes. It's killing my interest in anime when every single one has to have all the different "-dere" girls, because it essentially shoehorns the narrative. It's like every single studio is trying to pull off the same damn concepts, and it's ruining the potential a lot of series could have :/

Oh oh, and Aevie and I popped in Gungrave, and we decided to watch to it in Japanese...until any girl character showed up, and we couldn't stand the sound of their voices - so there's another for me.

I suppose it's a lot like my former problem above, 90% of female characters have the airy, really breathy kind of high-pitched voice. The only time they don't is when they're fulfilling a stale archetype.

As an aside, that list sort of goes for...a lot of entertainment, really, not just anime

It represents the complete and utter unnecessary censorship by 4Kids. They are obviously not eating jelly-filled donuts; they are eating jelly-filled(?) rice balls. English-speaking countries apparently are unaware of Japanese food stuff.

This is why I usually prefer the dubs. You don't get the squeaky as much.

That said, I would also suggest that loss of interest usually occurs when the first season is great, but the second season focuses too much on a single gimmick that made said first season so damn good.

Oh hello there, Seikon No Qwaser. Didn't see you there.

    Yeahhhh.

So far, my favorite female English Dub actress is Brittney Karbowski who voiced Yuri Nakamura in Angel Beats! - No high-pitchness at all. Its so...Awesome xD

Now, compared to the English Dub of Elfen Lied, its heaven @_@

Thanks to Galadin for the awesome signatures

All of the reasons mentioned above apply to me, EXCEPT for the last one (Number 11).

I mean, I still watch anime, but only older titles, especially Saint Seiya. The newer generation of anime seems to put me off, probably because of the "complexity" of it?
