I don't know what it is with people, but they seem to forget everything we know about versusXIII and say that we haven't heard anything about it in years that gives us the idea it might not come out. It's being developed by the best of the best from every development studio Square has, and they're currently finishing up other projects, so it's going to take a little longer than usual. We were also told several times that things that don't make it into KH3D would be implemented into versusXIII (and vice versa), as well as the reasons we don't see it at video game expos is because they'd rather work on it than try to make expo-ready content.
There's also the fact that this is a brand new game. It's not a copy and paste, yearly Call of Duty-type game. It's being built from the ground up, and they're trying things they've never quite done before, so of course it's gonna take longer. Final Fantasy versusXIII has a slow development cycle because it's a brand new game and the people working on it have been committed to other projects for a majority of versusXIII's development.
Getting someone to admit to something people already know isn't really a win. It does, however, again show how low Kotaku will stoop. The only information we've gotten out of it was Wada saying there's a city - and we already knew that from a gameplay trailer.
