PSP-3000 Help please.

As the title suggests, I need some help with my PSP(obviously, 3000). >.>

So, I'm not really sure as to what the problem is. But here's what happens:
For about three(close to four) months now(I've had it about two and a half years), it's turned on randomly. Does this with two different batteries.
Acts like it's semi-bricked. When I turn it on, it shows the SCE banner-thing, the background loads, then it shuts off. Again, does this with two different batteries.


Am I screwed, as far as this goes? Or by some insane chance is there hope it'll work again?

As far as contacting Sony goes, I've done that. They're charging 69USD +w/e taxes there may be to fix it. However, I feel that that is far too expensive for a console that is getting outdated because of the Vita.

So yeah, any and all help is welcome and appreciated.

(Also, I wasn't sure if this thread should be here or in the tech support one, or if it doesn't really matter.)

I've actually had to replace a 3000 due to that.... ( Sony -_-; ) and the problem was solved after.

However, a more tech savy forum goer would probably know something I don't, but just hope you still have your PSP's warranty for a possible exchange :(

this usually happens when you have cwcheat or any hacking software. this happened to my friend "thekeeper" and he is currently unable to cheat without his psp failing. this might be happening because you have cheats on... if not idk what to tell you man...

I'm a 100% completionist RPG nerd ( 800+ hrs logged b4 my first ad hoc match lol ).

But I'm sure we'll be able to play again sometime :3

funny... i had my 3000 since it first came out and i never had one problem with it... and i played that thing... a lot

Damn... You must have gotten really lucky then.

Since it seems like there's no hope, I may just try to sell it and downgrade to the 1000 for now(y'know, cos it's the cheapest refurbed PSP GameStop has, and I'm not ready to get rid of my UMDs ).

the warranty i believe only guarantees one year. he's had it for two and a half years.

hmmmm that weaid, you installed an update recently? and have you tried turning it on with the power cord in but no battery, this would rule out a falut with the battery connetor
