Well thats the bad thing about Final Fantasy there are too many Awesome characters its hard to choose a favorite!, Well I dont exactly know how to have ad hoc matches with other people that arnt around me.

^ Basically all of the above of what Mericus said. Do that, read the rules also, and you'll get along fine.

Personally, my favorite character to play as is Gabranth. Because Hatred is totally not what drives me.
