What is the Gil for?

Ive been to forums once before but at that time it did have gil, what is the gil for? Im just wondering, Thanks for your time.

The gil on here is (to my poor knowledge) used for purchasing card packs in the Triple Triad section. I don't know about anything else it's used for though, well if there is anything else.

Yeah, gil is only used for Triple Triad card packs at the moment.

Thanks for the information, I think the adding the Gil feature is pretty clever. You know what would be cool? Is if over time if you save alot of Gil you should be able to trade it in to make your membership Preimium. It would be a good alternative for those who cant really donate money. Who knows just an Idea you can present to the Boss.

I agree here, it would completely depreciate the whole point of donating and mean that people who are more popular (more posts, more reputation etc etc you get the point) would easily get premium and mean no one would buy triple triad cards until they were premium.

Agreed with Kraid and SteZ, using gil to get premium membership would contradict the whole thought behind it, as well as turning reputation into (more of) a popularity contest to get Premium.

How exactly would that pay the server and other costs it takes to run the forum? ^_- It would also be a smack in the face for those who donate to the forums on a regular basis.
