Tempted to buy a 3DS

I'm thinking about getting a 3DS XL too.

If you're thinking of getting a 3DS, only doit if you really want to play the games are out there now. The way I see it is that the market is in favorof the mobile market, and not just for casual games. I have no doubt that we will be seeing more and more titles witb smartphone exclusivity being based on a larger budget within just a few years. The 3DS has sold pretty well though so that's always a bonus.

I bought a Playstation Vita and I really hope Sony steps up their game. Overall though, I feel like the Playstation Vita is going to flop. I'm satisfied though, more games are released here in Japan afte all and P4G was my biggest reason for getting it.

I got a Vita over the 3DS too, not sure if it was a good idea or not... i'd advise you just look at titles on the 3DS and if there are enough that you like then go for it.

I (involuntarily, but who's complaining?) got a Vita and frankly I'm a little worried. As far as the platform goes it's much better than the 3DS (and this is coming from a serious Nintendo fanboy) but so far the releases have been awful. Just about all of the best games so far on the Vita have only come out in Japan (which is usually the case for a couple months, not a year) whereas the 3DS is almost certain to get some more love. Nintendo have always been better negotiatiors for these things.

My opinion probably isn't overly valid though because I'm seriously tempted to get a 3DS purely for the idea of portable smash bros.

EDIT: I mean they have only come out in Japan and have no release date anywhere else. The only exception so far is Ragnarok Odyssey which did eventually get a US release date (TODAY!) but hasn't got an EU one yet.

For exclusive releases I might agree, but it has gotten some awesome ports. And I just prefer portable gaming. I've never been worried about the Vita though. In fact, after this year, it'll be as good as the 3DS, or close to it, in terms of games. Or maybe next year.

But I imagine this cycle will just be repeating itself like me and the DS and PSP. At first, the PSP had no gaemz, and the DS dominated. But eventually I just let my DS collect heaping mounds of dust while my PSP was by far my most used console. 3DS had a good run, but Vita's time is now.

I'm inclined to think you might be right, but the PSP didn't take a full year to get some proper international releases.

To be honest, I think I'm just butthurt about not having a Tales of Innocence R release date yet.

I agree.... 3ds has a good lineup now... but with the likes of assassin creed, need for speed and persona hitting vita next month... I see vita at last getting some love
