Ok so keep in mind that with my Bartz i tend to focus completely on defensive fighting by staying close to the opponent and blocking then pounding on them with Slidehazzard when air born and alternating between Climbarrel and Solid Ascension when grounded to build up BRV then when the time comes to finish them off i use the usual tactics of staying up close and personal and waiting for them to make the first move and blocking it before smacking them down with Wind Shear or Goblin Punch, I'm also found of spamming Goblin Punch when the opponent is near a wall by canceling the EX Burst and repetitively bashing them back into the wall with Goblin Punch as i can pull it off before they recover and can dodge or block, and finally finishing them with my EX Burst at the last second. I have the timing down perfectly for every characters every attack, as well as i can usually tell what the attack will be by the characters movements, I'm not a big fan of the Holy spamming and as such will not use it whatsoever. This style has allowed me to dominate against any melee fighter I've come across but I tend to have a little more difficulty fighting magic users(I still usually win out but its just a pain and such a drawn out fight) so is their any advise you could offer to help me better myself in such matches? as it stands now my equipment is as follows.
Ultima Weapon
Adamant Shield
Saucer
Reed Cloak
Lucky Charm
Hero's Spirit
Back-Breaking Straw
followed by seven accessories that raise my luck by +4 each
My ability are
Basic-
Ground and midair block and evasion (20 all in total)
Midair evasion boost (10)
Speed, Jump, and jump times boost ++ (85 all in total)
Free air dash (15)
Support-
Always Target Indicator and EX core lock on (10 all in total)
Auto recovery (5)
Evasion time boost (10)
Extra-
Precision Jump (5)
Bravery Regen (10)
Sneak Attack (45)
EX critical boost (40)
Riposte (40)
EXP to HP (0)
Attacks
Land BRV-
Solid Ascension (20)
Climbarrel (20)
Air BRV-
Slidehazzard (15)
Holy (10) Used only to distract magic users when casting
Storm Shot (35)
Land HP-
Soul Eater (25)
Air HP-
Wind Shear (25)
Paladin Force (25)
all in all totaling me out at 470/470 CP used.
Take note i didn't take flare as i rarely use holy and its a pain to get off.
I suggest you to add Reel Axe. Without that, you can't combo with Bartz. I suggest to remove Midair Evasion Boost and Jump Times++. There are a waste of CP IMO...
You need reel axe, but its not your only option to combo
I use Bartz unique weapon and genji equipment, but its up to you
Also, jump++ isnt needed, since you already get a boost to it from one of bartz's moves, and thats already enough
Also, focusing on one style is very bad for bartz.
Also, Defensive Bartz should have concentration
Also Defensive Bartz should spam holy, alot
My age exceeds your IQ...significantly
Defensive Bartz should prolly also have Snooze and Lose.
And it's better to have a 1 accessory and several multipliers than multiple accessories and 0 multipliers.
Hehehe, I completely ignored his accessories =P

I have sense taken the Reel Axe and used it to great effect and my friends suprise. As for the Holy spaming ive tried and i hated it... My friends who i play with (dont have online capibilitys so im stuck haveing to use the WLAN) somehow manage to block and reflect it back in my face every time even though im directly over them at the very top of the level where they cant see me doing it. As for the jump++. Kumo, do you mean jump times or jump boost and what do you mean by one style is bad? And last but not least.. im still working on the Dorganns Blade(sp? lol) and genji set. xP. Oh and Gates the reason ive picked the accesorys i have is because i spend alot of time in EX mode or perfer to at least and the luck i get from the accesorys increases the distance of an EX Core from my opponent and closer to me as well as Lucky Charm +4 luck and i get my summons recharged faster, Hero's Spirit+20 CP for moves and abilitys, Back-Breaking Straw is a BRV boost on blocks dodges and someing else i dont remember and i find the more BRV the better my chances of winning though i guess its not to big of a deal sense i almost never get hit to take damage lol but if you could give me an idea of a better set up for the accesorys then i would gladly like the help... oh almost forgot ive sense taken concentration and debated on snooze and lose, just cost so damn much CP.. x(... And i realized no one answered my question lol so ill ask again " Is their any advise you could offer to help me better myself in my matches against Mages? And thanks alot guys lol.
Jump boost, he already has that boosted, so you dont need jump++
Holy isnt easy to block after either slide hazard or solid rise
It doesnt matter if they block holy anyway, just watch

Why are you stacking luck? Not bothering to read the paragraph above :3
Luck makes you more likely to use Odin correctly =P
My age exceeds your IQ...significantly
I seriously doubt this is true and even if it were he might not be using Odin on his build anyway.
I know what the accessories do, but consider this.
Right now your accessory build gives you +32 luck at all times. Let's say you were to take out five of your seven other Luck+ accessories (not including Lucky Charm) and replaced them with *1.5 multipliers. This gives you a base value of +8 luck. Let's see what the multipliers can increase that to if they are triggered:
0 Multipliers triggered - *1 - +12 Luck
1 Multiplier triggered - *1.5 - +18 Luck
2 Multipliers triggered - *2.2 - +27 Luck
3 Multipliers triggered - *3.3 - +40 Luck
4 Multipliers triggered - *5 - +60 Luck
All Multipliers triggered - *7.5 - +90 Luck
So even with one of your multipliers not triggering, you'll get almost twice your current amount in luck.
(Somebody feel free to correct me if I'm wrong on this - I know Luck can behave differently than other stats increased by accessories)
Multipliers will also help you with Back-Breaking Straw, but I don't know the exact percentages it increases your brave by on dodge and block so I can't help you there.
Good *1.5 Multipliers to have:
Large Gap in HP
Small Gap in HP
Near Loss
Victory Chance
Large BRV Gap
Small BRV Gap
After Summon
Summon Unused
Enemy Near Loss
Enemy Near Victory
Enemy Summon Used
Enemy Summon Unused
Pick between 4 and 8 of these and your multiplier will generally be between *2 and *6.
