Hi there,
I recently fought my brother in Dissidia - it worked pretty well with the Emperor against most characters he took (he always gave up once he noticed that he can't get near to me without falling into the Emperors traps).
But not for Terra. We played on the Pandemonium map (which usually is a paradise for the Emperor) and he spammed almost only Flood and the Tornado skill. What can be done here to beat that spammer?
Tried my Flares and mines together with the Air Crest but hasn't worked, once he's into the tornado, he brings me into an edge and punishes me there. Sure, the Emperors mines can absorb Terra's BRV attacks mostly but he just spammed the HP ones. What can I do in that situation?
Stay away from Terra and keep placing traps. But be careful and look out for Flood, dodge it as you can. When Terra uses her tornado spell, run father away and try to setup a Starfall or get closer when the attack isn't dangerous anymore and while she is suffering the lag of her spell launch a flare.
Well, I thought about Starfall as well since I guess it can hit Terra in the middle of the Tornado. And the traps, well - when Terra's far away they don't work that well kinda. My brother doesn't dare to come near to me because of the Thunder Crest (he thinks it's unfair to make a Flare direct after he got trapped in the Crest). Hmm, I wonder if Dynamite can get Terra a bit away from me while her Tornado spell is out ...
Tornado is a godsend againest Emperor. She vertically tracks you. If you time it right, she can entrap herself on a Thunder Crest. Use Dynamite to help you in that endavour.
As for Flood, that's even less of a problem. You can outspeed Flood easily by just MOVING.
Terra also leaves herself completely open for the last part of Tornado. Throw a Flare at the right time, and it'll garuntee A HIT. I assure you of that.
But that's how thunder crest is supposed to be used too after all.
Since The Emperor, even tough he IS awesome, doesn't have a BRV > HP attack, his style resolve around sealing away opponents and then hit them. Or at last I used him like this.
Be careful with Dynamite tough, if you time it wrong and it got reflected it can be a problem.
Mind if I ask a question or two? Since were on the Subject of a spamming Terra; how might I fight back against a Terra who spams Holy Combo? I know I can reflect them back with an Aerial Flare, but then my opponent will spam Meltdown since it seems to go right through it. It just seems like the whole Emperor/Terra Match is a big disdvantage for poor Mateus! The Emperor isn't my Main, but I'm always up for increasing my adaptability and range as a player. Are there any tips you can give that can help me really turn the tables on that little Esperkin?
Meltdown can be reflected by using Bombard. This can reflect back at Terra doing HP damage to her.
I see...and how might I fight against an aggresive Terra User?
well, yeah, Terra is "a pain in the ass" when using Emperor. But she can be defeated. Flares can reflect Holy, so stay in the ground behind your Flares. Reflected Holies will probably hit her big time. As for the Meltdown. Dodge it. If the Meltdown is homing, then Bombard it. For the reflected blue flare, Bombard it also. You have to cast another blue flare BEFORE bombarding the reflected one; now you have 3 flares, 1 red & 2 blue. (you can cast red flare before or after the Bombard, it doesn't matter). Lay mines in different areas. For Flood, don't dodge, just run to avoid it then return behind your Flares.
Another thing, Starfall is not quite usefull against Terra, she will just send a flaming Meltdown in your face or several Holies. Try practising to Bombard Meltdown, if so happen you're accustomed to it, cast Starfall, let's hope she do Meltdown. Bombard it..
Easier said than done.be careful man. Good luck.
Here's another tip: Try using Terra for several days, let yourself be aware of her moveset. That way you will know the gaps in betwwen of her attacks and how the attack works. Try also fighting AI Emperor (high level pls.), use Terra and see how AI reacts on your attacks, learn from it.![]()

Once a Squall mainer; Always a Squall mainer.
We do not start any fight; We end them.
If you re-reflect a blue Flare before casting another one, it'll just be canceled out and you'll still only have 2 Flares.
The correct sequence is this:
1. You cast blue Flare.
2. Opponent reflects it.
3. You cast another blue Flare.
4. You reflect the original blue Flare with Bombard.
5. NOW you have 3 Flares.
