Don't know if this has been posted before but here is some disheartening news regarding Dissidia 2. I really hope this won't throw the entire prospect of Dissidia 2 out of the window...
If it looks bleak, everyone on this forum should buy fifty copies of Dissidia each, then buy another three hundred each, thirt times.
That should do the trick.
Honestly, it's because people didn't like the cast or thought Dissidia was too shallow for a fighter. Fanboys and Fangirls are butt-hurt that their Tifa, Celes/Locke, Seifer, Sora aren't in this game; hence they think by not buying the game will make Square put a sequel with them in next time. Quite the opposite in reality.
Nishishishi~
I would have loved Sabin or Edgar to be in game, but it didn't stop me from buying it. The character choices were perfect for each series. Except for perhaps FF11 and 12.
S-E has a funny way of determining what franchises to make sequels for. "Make a new Chrono game? Well, let's just see how a port of a SNES game to the DS with a blander retranslation and additional features that further connected it with its incredibly polarizing sequel that we made no effort to promote sold... Not well? Guess that means Chrono isn't a profitable franchise! Too bad, so sad!"
"Hm, Dissidia sold well in Japan, but the sales weren't too hot internationally. Granted, we made no effort to promote it outside of Japan aside from a couple days' worth of lazily slapped-together commercials with poor sound mixing and little information about the game itself whatsoever and only aired them after the game had already launched, therefore not building any hype outside of the internet, but the greater market should have just magically known all about the game already! Cancel Dissidia 2, boys!"
Well I don't need a damn sequel, anyway.
I'd rather new content via SD card/download.
I saw a post a couple weeks ago that basically said "Hey, I doubt the majority of people here have actually paid for Dissidia, amirite?"
I raged so hard it wasn't even funny.
Well yes, pirates like me are also to blame. There are lots of players out there, just that most people outside Japan apparently love pirating, leading to a loss in income for the company resulting in shit like this.
