thats the TG combo
I had to watch online tutorials for 2 days to at least get 3 of his combos right(still can't get the TG combo 100% right, still trying >.<)
I will agree with you for half -_-
His attack is slow if you compare it with Squall's beat fang or Warrior of Light's Day Flash. But it's acceptable.
For Jecht Rush(ground attack), if his first attack doesn't hit opponent, I will tend to dodge cancel his second attack because it's predictable. You can block easily before he executes it. Same as his aerial attack, except that he performes two continous attacks before he stops and executes the third one.
In my opinion, Jecht has a lot of disadvantage when against others characters: no long range attack, doesn't have a lot of move variety, his only two bravery moves have short range, and timing makes it a troublesome to master etc. You are always on disadvantage at the beginning.
Of course he also has advantages: his bravery can connect to Hp and he can break your bravery easily(like Squall and Cloud combine), less attacks means less CP spending on his move.
I can only think of two advantages for the moment, many of disadvantages. But quantity doesn't mean quality.
As Jecht's player, your strategy is simple yet hard to master, draw close to your opponent, looking for counter-attack chances.
It only takes you to inflict your opponent into few combos, he will be defeated. And in general I use less time to kill CPU than with others, of course I know it's different when you fight against human.
My three mains and they are all cool
you can try charging your attacks and probably catch the opponent of gaurd when he/she tries to block you and gets gaurd crashed.
however, charging can be seen a mile away(Jecht glows red when charging) and ranger characters wil exploit ths and attack you, it will be more painful if they had counterattack(most do so watch out)
I doubt people will actually try to block jecht
My age exceeds your IQ...significantly
I blocked my friend with Exdeath, for such a good combo master, he did not know jecht's attacks can be charged lol
and blocking jecht is based on instinct, if you fight jecht repetedly you can distinguish a charged attack or a non charged attack and dodge or block accordingly
Hey, I've tried to do Jecht's combos for 2 months (2ms without a single combo D: ).
Now I am great at doing them, because of training, training and watching slow detailed videos about his combos.
(uh, okay, I still am f****in angry when I inflict a break, because it TOTALLY ruins my timing D: )

Jecht is really just a matter of training. And really, it's hard to train with him because you can only start a combo once you've gotten a first hit. Unless you're in EX mode... that's how I train. I'll post a vid of my setup and how I train against Max cpus to get the timing right.
I've been training with Jecht (serious training, not just messing around) for about 2 and a half hours total now, and I can do every combo about 50% of the time. And I'm only getting better.
