    Default Aaarrghh... (ffiv ds)

Is it just me, or did they make the DS remake of FFIV ridiculously difficult?

And I don't just mean underpowered characters so you need to grind all the time, I mean how rare and uncommon Ethers are in the game!

Some of the long dungeons are insufferable b/c mobs can be very difficult unless you use magic, but you know you have to save your magic if you want to get to the end, but you don't want to use too much magic or else you'll use up the few ethers you have and won't have enough MP to finish the boss off.

I recall a dungeon where Palom, Porom, AND Tellah were all in my party, and I pretty much just had one of them as a meat shield until they died, simply b/c i didn't have enough ethers to sustain all of their mana pools.

I don't know... Did anyone else notice this problem with the DS game?

I found the DS game pretty easy, actually.

It wasn't too hard for me... When I had Palom, Porom and Tellah in the party, I usually gave them one of the elemental rods so they could use them to cast spells without using MP. When the rods damage wasn't enough anymore, I had Rosa pray all the time and Rydia defend in random encounters.

These were massively helpful for me. I won't deny that it was much easier for me to die in this game than say, FFVII, IX, or X, but I didn't mind because it actually forced me to strategize. It's definitely doable, and I didn't require that much grinding through the game either.

I found everything quite easy, except when you reach the moon. That was quite annoying for me.

all you have to do is level like crazy, and use the above stated methods (i.e. rods, pray,) I couldn't beat Zeromus, until I got my team to the lv80's

FF4 DS becomes alot easier once you learn that most enemies are vulnerable to status ailments such as sleep, stop, slow, and confused. You also have to be strategic against the bosses by making good use of the augments. And remember: ALL the bosses in the game are vulnerable to slow. I like FF4 DS because u have to play smart to win. You cant just mash the a button.

Yeah, I couldn't believe how useful Slow was in this game. I never used to give this spell much thought. But for FFIV I always cast Slow on the boss, and Haste on my party. Even Berserk was useful.
