Tifa's advice dosent help him at all. If Aerith didnt die Cloud would have ended up with her. After everything that happens Cloud is always thinking of her. If he really wanted to be with Tifa he would have gotten over Aerith just how Aertith got over Zack.
Cloud didnt get over Aerith or Zack, because he couldnt do anything to help them, thats just Cloud's character. And Tifa's is what got cloud to go save the children instead of finding Rufus

Yeah... The probable reason why Cloud is thinking about Aerith(and Zack except Zack doesn't appear in front of Cloud as much) is because he can't forgive himself and blames himself that they died. It's not really love ㅡㅡ;;.

cloud didn't think he was Zack, he emulated major portions of Zack's persona, like his cockiness and the such. That's what Aerith really kinda saw in Cloud at the time. And of course, Aerith appeared to Cloud a lot because she was an Ancient, so she had that ability to move about the Lifestream. She still liked him, but I think she was more in love with the bits of Zack she saw in him, rather than Cloud himself.

Right, although, at the start of FFVII, which is like a day or so after the end of Crisis Core, Cloud pretty much loses who he is. He carried on the legacy wrong for the most part, until he got himself back.
After that, Cloud was a great legacy to Zack, pulling together his ragtag team and taking it upon themselves to save the world!
